I was thinking at that time of this muscial creation of how sea cruises always interested me when I was young; to smell the sea salt, discover hidden tropical islands and watch the sun, moon and stars reflect off the waves. But sadly I could never could never truly enjoy it because I always get sea-sicker than a dog.
But I wanted to express that childlike joy of the sea musically, so I threw this track together quickly during a fit of silly creativity. I honestly did not expect too much of anything at first; I just enjoyed making it like a child would play on the sea. What resulted from that session suprised me and unexpectedly made me smile.
So listen in, leave your worries at the dock, and have fun sailing away (and be sure to take those seasick pills)!
This is such a great community, so many super talented and great people... I just had some fun with the stuff I found here, so thanks for all the awesome footage, image and audio material I was able to use... the black and white scene with the couple is from a short I made back in 2006...
I took the "Navy Blue (instrumental)" by ppeppina and turned it into this song.
The vocals are my own.
here are the lyrics:
the sun it shines,
its in my eyes.
and I see all the lines
that connect everything.
you and me,
theres a line here too
what it means,
is between me and you
between me and you,
between me and you
hold out your hand
and hold mine,
Lets see,
what this line.
is supposed to be.
dont look down,
on the count of 3,lets fly.
this line only, exists if you agree

I thought this was a rad fight scnene and I wanted some scoring practice and this is the result. Kudos to whiteninja and the two upstanding young ladies for their obviously hard work putting it together.
AND NOW, FOR SOME VERY COOL NEWS!
hitRECord has formed a new relationship with Sony through the end of 2012 to power the technology that enables our creative process and to help us spread the art we make together wider across the Internet.
Check out this video for more. I'm really excited about this partnership!
==
I think this partnership really makes a lot of sense: hitRECord makes art using technology and Sony makes technology that people use to make art.
Sony will be providing us with technology to make art together by helping us get equipment for our Mini-Tour this November, supporting certain collaborations (like our new collab "RE: Loops" with Rian Johnson, the director of "Looper",) and they'll help distribute particular finished products far and wide on the web. Sony will also be sending out some NEX cameras out to some of the more prominent and established members of the our community.
And as a result of our partnership with Sony, we'll be able to pay our contributing artists more than we ever have before!

Thanks Again!

Reversing the song was an excellent idea, so here's something. Things were added to it.
Animated short music video for "I'd Rather Be the Wolf". A very fun project to work on.
Ammendment: A special thanks to ppeppina ad depsi for their work. Also, thanks for all the comments and recommends.
1280x720 stills are available in the resources.
I've been wanting to do something for the Little Red Riding Hood collab for a while, but hadn't quite found a place to fit in. Flockofword's "Lessons that Lessen Us" provides a perfect opportunity. It aslo gives me a chance to musically comment on some issues dear to my heart. Here's to freedom of expression and being. Enjoy.

Here's a short video that I've been working on - inspired by Metaphorest's Ravens record. This was my first attempt at rotoscoping. I had to remake marcellepallais' hair, I hope I did her justice. I've been playing around a lot with the coloring, and I think I'll increase the contrast and bring out the blues a bit more.
I built and animated the the wings and birds from dgroeneman's "feather drawing" and sojushots' "winter tui". I've uploaded some pre-keyed high-res image sequences of the flying birds, and flapping wings as resources for remixability.
Ideally when I'm done, I'd like the video to span the entire song. I welcome feedback on where to go from here.
Cheers!
So thanks to Dr. Gory I found the gumption to revisit my edit of this and fix the aspect ratio thing that was messed up. Also I tightened up a few different edits throughout the video.
Also I was inspired by Matt Conley's RE:Love video and decided to do an intro to this as well.
There's still room for this to grow though. There's a lot of great footage that I didn't use that could be cut into this.
:)
