themetafictionist's Collaborations
|
I thought of this today when responding to ThadicalRadical on a video I did about what poetry means to me for azarkowski's collab. I researched it to see if other collabs had been created for Flash Fiction and found two - but they weren't really what I had in mind. So let me explain! What is Flash Fiction? Flash fiction is a story that can fit on two facing pages of a standard-size book. Generally, 1,000 words is the dividing line between Flash fiction and a vignette. But different groups have different rules. K, what are our rules? 1. Stories should be no less than 100 words and no more than 400 words, under any circumstances. These are not tiny stories, nor are they long reads (400 words is not a long read). 2. Stories should follow the traditional story arc and contain the following: -at least one character -a setting -a discernable plot (ideally with climax and resolution) And that's it! What will we do with these guys? Well, we can use them to make short films! For example, Day Glo's Strawberry Bootlaces falls within the perimeters of this collab. It's 371 words, has a character, a plot, a climax, a resolution. And it made a wonderful short film! So start flashin! :o |

Hi ya'll! If you watch the video, I explain it, but basically, I started this collab as part of my personal journey for 2012. Everyday on my bedroom wall, I'm writing the things that happened during the day or things that just strike me for whatever reason, for which I'm grateful. I thought other hitrecorders might feel moved to do something similar, so I thought this collab could be a great way for us to contribute records about the things we're grateful for - both big and small - on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. You can write a song, make a video, draw an image or make an image remix, write it out - doesn't matter! <3 |

Recently, I've been reading Guillaume Apollinaire's Le bestiaire ou Cortège d'Orphée, which is a collection of 30 short poems. Each poem briefly describes an animal and is accompanied by an illustration from Raoul Dufy. Since the poems were published in 1911, they are in the public domain, and I thought it might be fun to reinterpret them, or even come up with our own short poems/tiny stories about different animals and then illustrate or animate them. I'm uploading a video that will explain further. I'm also uploading a text record of Apollinaire's original 30 poems, both in their original French and the English translations. Thanks! <3 |
