a sort of stream of consciousness-y thing ive been writing lately. i saw this timelapse vid today by bluebudgie and was really inspired to experiment with it. i understand how this might be seen as political or preachy or offensive.. but i honestly dont mean to be any of those things. it is directed at me more than anyone else. there's a lot of literary reference nod's in the text.

sub-point: the track is an instrumental version of everything is on fire

Here's an early attempt at a trailer for the live "Summer In the City!" shows in New York City. It's more in the style of a teaser trailer, with minimum details and information.

I have some ideas for future trailers that are definitely more comprehensive. Below is a list of resources that would be really helpful to have so more artists can work on some trailers:

* Video invitation by Joe (similar to the ones for Sundance and SXSW; unedited raw footage would be especially awesome.)
* Official title cards with event information (essentially slides that all have the same font and have the essential details for the shows.)
* And maybe the layers of the official poster so they can be animated.

...just some suggestions.

The itinerary for each show is likely "TBD" but I'm assuming splicing footage from the "Morgans" and "Nebullulaby" into future trailers would be appropriate as those are likely to be screened.

Here are the links to the public domain footage I used:

Righto! Here we have Version 1 of my visual cut, Nathan's doing some awesome music and I will be keeping further improvements to the visuals in this edit (in perfect time) for the new soundtrack being produced.

Note - Please note this is not my complete visual cut, there are embellishments to be added, extra footage from contributors, example Sirius Dan, Jolynne, and others etc.

So while I can't guarantee to include everything in my edit, there is still more to be added. Particularly i want to add more improvement to creature animations, add more extra,s to fancier visual titles for the opening credits and so on!

Note - there are no sound fx etc yet in this version :)

As an example of the difference between my prior versions with Morgan 1 check out these,

I was getting my stuff packed after a day full-filled in the RECroom and New Frontier and hitRECorder Alien approached me to do a quick doodle of an instrument for the (non) music collaboration (which everyone should totally check out because it turned out amazing!) So I sat back down and got to work.

I choose the French Horn because it's one of my favorite instruments aesthetically for it's organic yet intricate feel. And I've always been a sucker for the brass section. He said to give it a touch of hitRECord yet to make it mine at the same time. This is what came from it. Lisa then named it "the love horn", ha. :)
