Makingfriends

Based on InkedCanvas' lovely Tiny Story {Homemade}: "i made some friends"

Inky's description: "imagined a small, odd child.. with a group of home made friends, made of household items such as toasters, pots, lamps, bedding... etc. robotic looking beings.. anything. just the idea of a "lonely" kid, who finally "made" some friends <3"

We all know that child, the lonely kid who has trouble fitting in with their peers, so they spend the days looking out the window, watching the other kids play together outside. I'd like to think that many of these lonesome spirits are brave (and crafty) enough to invent their own games, to fashion their own toys, and why not, to make their own friends with paper, glue, crayons, glitters, etc.

And what better way to illustrate this Tiny Story with mirtle's drawings?! <3

When I was younger I wanted to be a lawyer.

Now I just want to be younger.

Imaginary

Sometimes imaginary friends are not as cuddly as we'd like them to be but, alas, they'd still love a spot of tea.

Jack and Jill went up the hill

To fetch a pail of water

Jack fell down and broke his crown

And Jill, the sole beneficiary of his life insurance policy,

Had nothing to do with it, honest.

The idea for this RECord came about when I was curating graphics for Joe's RECollection request (which I haven't completed because I was distracted by this idea. But soon, I promise!).  As I was sifting through the RECs, I discovered new amazing graphics and fell in love all over again with the already familiar ones.  I was especially amazed at all the characters that this community has created; these are creatures that only special and overabundantly creative minds are capable of fashioning.  I felt like Max from Where the Wild Things Are.

So here's a REC I made in honor of all the wonderful hitREcord creatures and their creators.  Let's see how many you can spot! You might need to zoom, so you'll probably need to download it. And there's lots of space left in hitRECord Alley for more, so please feel free to remix/add.

Happy New Year to all
