steverolston's Featured RECords
I dug this tiny story by MRT and thought I'd take it for a spin.
I saw the request for a "hard-line pen & ink type thing" of Joe for the 7" Vinyl cover. That pretty accurately describes my style so I thought I'd give it a go.
I've always had a fondness for playing cards and it seemed like a good visual fit for the excellent "Man in the Herringbone Hat."
I actually started this drawing four and a half months ago when I first listened to Rian's recording. But it took until today for me to ignore work deadlines and polish it up. Hopefully I can be more active around here sometime in the future.

If you can't tell, this is supposed to be a marionette of RegularJOE. I thought it would be interesting to provide a means for users to animate portions of Joe's Regularities (or other records).
It's not easy to capture likenesses when using just dots for eyes but I thought simple was better, both for clarity at all sizes and for having other users make new expressions/characters/etcetera.
I'd like to make more options myself, such as other head positions, mouth shapes, expressions and clothing... but I'm not sure when I'll have time. So I encourage others to take a stab at it. Maybe he needs a dancing partner as well?
I included the big versions of the heads with better details in case anyone wants to go in for a close-up.
There's also a black+white version here: http://hitrecord.org/records/25021
