This is my tiny story video response to "My Dad Is An FBI Agent." The public domain videos I used were:

Harm Hides at Home: http://www.archive.org/details/safety_harm_hides
and
FBI Hostage rescue Team: http://www.archive.org/details/gov.archives.arc.12175

This might be one of the few times that having such a high-pitched voice came in handy for me. :) Thanks for watching! :)

Hi everyone! This is my Summer in the City introduction...I'm hoping to come to the Sept. 6th one--if I can get a ticket! :) At any rate, I'll be compiling the list of resources that accompany this RECord over the course of the afternoon (Aug 14th). If you don't see yours on here by tomorrow, please let me know!! There were so many great RECords to work with on this one--thanks for watching!

This is the video I pulled from public domain for the shots of NYC nightlife in the 60's:

When I first started working on this REmix I searched "fire" in the public domain archives and got a bunch of Cold War era propaganda films that seemed to use fear to get everyone all fired up. My mom actually remembered having to watch these films in school as a kid. Anyways, I thought I'd mix the two different ends of the spectrum--fire as a creative force/thing of beauty and fire as a tool of fear.
Then I tried to mix layers upon layers upon layers in rapid repetition to cut to the beat and to keep up with the pace of the music as it gets faster. I also added in a sound effect at the beginning of a match being lit. This was definitely a crazy, fun challenge and different from the editing I normally do!
I'm still compiling the list of all my resources that i used, and I'll add that to this RECord.
The public domain videos were:
"Duck and Cover" (this one's a classic!)
"Vision in the Forest"
"The House in the Middle"
"A Day Called X" (footage of a test evacuation of Portland during the Cold War)
"Make Mine Freedom" (weird cartoon)
"Mighty Mouse: Wolf! Wolf!" (another cartoon)

Thanks for watching!

This is my first contribution to a HitRECord collaboration. It's a remix for the Pocket Autopsy project.
I'm so excited to have found the HitRECord community and I love the idea of global art collaboration (thanks RegularJoe!!), so I hope to contribute much more in the future. :)
I've tried to source everything below and the home movies in the video came from a collection of childhood 8 mm tapes I had converted over recently. Thanks for watching!
