Text_notecard_shadow_top_left People dance at weddings, parties, school events, in their bedrooms, when they are happy and when they are in love. Dan danced with fire. His life seems to have been a big dance--a fun, flowing movement with many partners to dance with along the way. I say we dance for Dan!

Record yourselves dancing-at home, in the streets, at church, at school, at your job, wherever. And do it for Dan.

Once we get a bunch of videos together, we can bring them together and make a beautiful video in Dan's memory. I am sure he will be dancing in the sky forever.

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left I was looking for books that are public domain...and stumbled across this one. It is amazing! I can already see HitRECorders making beautiful art out of these stories. Go to:
http://www.authorama.com/opera-stories-from-wagner-1.html
to find the book. It is also on archive.org. (If you know another site that is better, share it!).
Here is the first page:

"In these stories you will find some wonderful giants.

You will find beautiful maidens who lived in a river.

You will find a large family of little black dwarfs who lived under the river, and you will find a splendid hero.

The little children of Germany used to curl up in their mothers’ arms, when bedtime came, and listen to the stories of these strange people.

When these little children grew up, they told the same stories to their children.

So it went for many, many years.

The stories have been put together by a man named Richard Wagner. He put them together in such a way that they make one long and wonderful story.

After he had told these stories in words, he told them again in a more beautiful way. He told them in music.

Sometime you will hear this music, and you will think of beautiful water-maidens, singing and dancing in the sunshine.

You will think of great giants walking over mountains.

You will think of the little black dwarfs under the river, and you will hear them hammering, hammering upon their anvils."

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left I have been singing the alphabet to my son while I change his diaper or put him to bed. I am not sure why, other than it's educational and has a fun rhythm. So, obviously, HITRECORD came to mind...could we do an alphabet-y project?

Imagine where we'd be without the alphabet. See how it is incorporated into nearly everything we do...even as I write...w-r-i-t-e....

My ideas:
Video-singing to children or children singing the alphabet.
Audio- People singing the alphabet in rounds.
Text: Alphabet stories or words associated with each letter of the alphabet (with illustrations!) For example, M is for Morgan M. Morganstern. T is for Tiny Stories. W is for Wirrow. Etc. Write a fictional story about life without the alphabet or words.
Image: Give letters life! Illustrate the alphabet. Take pics of interesting letters-graffitti, billboards, signs, etc.

I can't sing, but I may upload me singing the alphabet to get the ball rolling. Just don't pee yourself laughing when you hear my horrible voice, ok? :)

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left All of us lead lives outside of HitRECord...I thought it would be fun to share with our web friends a piece of ourselves. Submit pics, a video compilation, text, or a song about your daily lives. Work, play...family, home. What is home to you? Where is home?

For those of us who don't travel much, seeing what the world is like outside our little bubble will be great. And I am sure we all have a little something in common with one another... :)

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left A few days ago, I posted an idea(!) on the Random Acts of Tiny Stories collab for us HitRECorders to spread the tiny stories through libraries and bookstores. "How do I do this?" you may ask. I have the answer: Make some fun bookmarks or post-it notes with the tiny stories (and illustrations?) on them and distribute among random books in libraries, bookstores, campus bookstores, used bookstores, antique stores, wherever you may find a lonely book who needs a friend.

It's a little like pay-it-forward. Imagine a lonely widower picking up the latest large-print novel and, upon sitting on his rocking chair back home, opening the book and finding the tiny story. Can you see his happy smile??? I can!

Another idea! Go into a public bathroom with your favorite colored permanent marker and write a tiny story for all potty-goers to see. (If you are rebellious enough to do this!! ;))

For those bold enough to take on this task, grab a friend who can record you sneaking the bookmarks into books or record yourself! Make a fictional video illustrating a child's surprise as she opens 'The BFG' and finds a tiny story. Use your imaginations, people..and spread the word! :)

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left There are so many talented and creative people on this site. I have only been a part of this community for a week, but I cannot wait to get more involved. I love seeing the beauty and everyone's individual and unique gifts. Tonight, as I was studying for school, I thought: why can't we all use this creativity to make a difference? To help those who can't draw, speak, write, etc.? What better way to push our Senators, Congressment, National Leaders, Presidents, to act than through our voices?

So, here's my idea: We collaborate as activists for change. Create a multi-media presentation and spread it like wildfire. Get Hollywood's, CNN's, the UN's attention through our art, words, videos, whatever.

Particularly close to my heart is human (sex) trafficking. Can you imagine, as a young 12 year old girl, being kidnapped, drugged and 'sold' to perverted and often-times abusive men. Raped. Beat. Taken away from your family and home. Sadly, most Americans in the United States do not realize that it happens right here. Maybe even at the hotel or motel down the road. Maybe in your apartment complex. Maybe even your bosses or co-workers are involved.

Let's be the voices and hands and feet and ART for the girl and boys, women and men, who can't speak for themselves. <3

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left Call it art or mutilation, body modification, beauty, self-expression, or trend. Call it what you will, but many people nowadays have or are going to get tattoos. Since this is a community of many artists from around the world, I thought it would be interesting to see how those of us with tattoos are linked. And inked.

Post a story, song, video, or picture of your tattoo (s) and what inspired you to get them...tell a story or just share a part of you that is unique and personal.

I will start by posting mine

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left Remember when we were in middle school and our teachers would make us play popcorn? Maybe you don't and my teacher was crazy...but this is popcorn: One person writes a sentence or paragraph, beginning the story. Then, he/she passes it on to another, who contributes a sentence or paragraph, and so on with as many people in the class. The last student, of course, writes the ending. It is a fun activity that makes for one kooky story. I thought it would be fun for those interested to join me in this 'game.'

I will be the first 'student' to write. For the next to collaborate, please build on this. For the person after him/her, please read his/her contribution and add to that...and so on.

"I come from a house crammed with 21 crazy Tumbles. My name is Carrie Tumble. I am the youngest out of 12 girls. There are 17 of us kids total. April-May June is the oldest child at 21 and Brayden Michael is the youngest. He is only 15 months. We live in an old barn, restored of course to be a suitable home, in the quiet state of New Hampshire. My grandparents, the craziest of the brood, moved in with us a year ago when grandpa Thermon started to see Indians."
