This didn't turn out as awesome as I had hoped, what with the low light and then trying to fix it in iMovie without ever having used iMovie before, and then getting it posted too late to be included in the Seattle show, presumably. But Joe asked for records showing our favorite places in Seattle, and some of my favorite places in Seattle are venues in the Seattle social dance scene.

This video was taken at Om Culture in Fremont at the weekly Fusion dance (creatively titled "Om Fusion"). Lead: Mike Stoumbos. Follow: Me. Camerawork: Robin Rose. If you're curious, we're dancing to Aimee Allen's "Calling The Maker" (removed for copyright reasons, natch).

Hi-res file can be found here, if you actually wanted to do something with it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28282/Fusion%20dance.mov

This short story was written by me as one of the really early hitRECord collaborations. I took a photo of a door in a wall, he(art)geek drew a girl leaning against said wall, Tori photoshopped them together, and then I wrote this story. Just recently, the talented and wonderful Philip Horrell recorded it as an audio play as a birthday gift to me.

Now, the version I've posted here is just him reading the story. He also made an awesome version with music and sound effects, but sadly the sounds he used are copyrighted material. What I would LOVE, possibly more than life itself, is if some of you sensational, talented hitRECorders would make some beautiful music and sounds to add to this. I'm thinking jazzy with piano and trumpet, very film noir-esque. We definitely need some ambient bar noise for the bit about the narrator hoping she'll come into the bar where he works, and maybe a match striking when she first lights her cigarette. Go nuts!

Another failed attempt to post an audio file. I wish I knew what the max file size was.

This was supposed to have an audio file attached. It took nearly ten minutes supposedly uploading the file...then when it finished, it was only the text. Not awesome :(

I wrote lyrics for this song for Dan's birthday in 2008, but never wrote the music or recorded it. When I heard the news today...I couldn't think of anything else to do.

Sorry it's out of tune, but I'm not very patient with tuning at the best of times. And I mispronounced Geisel.

If we're going to have a coat of arms, we need a motto in Latin. Obviously.

I tried a few variations on "again by heart" since translations are never exact, so we could pick the one we t...

"How about you? Have anyone special?"

"I...I'm not sure."

"How do you mean?"

"Well, definitely on the 'special.' I'm just not so sure on the 'have.'"

Dailybaggage
I tend to have one set of jewelry I wear every day, slowly cycling out different pieces over months or years. I don't really feel dressed without it. I'm including this in the Pocket Autopsy album because of Marke's addition of the word "baggage," which made me think of all the things I carry with me every day.

The pendant was purchased in Jerusalem: the shape is a hand warding against evil, with the center piece shaped like Israel. The chain broke, so I jerry-rigged this fitting myself.

The skulls were 99 cents at a local novelty store. They accompany a bit of red and black-striped fabric tied around my right wrist, which I couldn't get off without cutting.

The leather cuff was a birthday gift from my sister.

The glasses are new. I rather like them.

The earrings are 10g. I keep thinking about going up to 8, but then I'd have to replace these.

Don't leave home without it. How else would I cope with crazies and annoying teenagers on the bus?
