I have personally always felt a strange affinity to the moon, and what it represents. The moon symbolises creativity - visual art, the performing arts, poetry, prose, music (appropriate for HitRECord no?) It represents the cyclic nature of the universe, mother nature, femininity, fertility, the tides. We associate the moon with nighttime - therefore with dreams, nightmares, visions and illusions, and also with matters concerning mysteries, spirituality, the paranormal and the occult. It holds strong symbolic connotations with our subconscious, our deepest emotions, secrets, and our psyche, and is therefore associated with both genius and madness. The realm of the moon is a dark and mysterious otherworld. And so I, like countless others, want to explore and celebrate it. =) This collab is all about all things moonlike - anything that is directly relating to, or inspired by the moon or any symbolism associated with it. I'm hoping that a fairly comprehensive collection can eventually develop so that we can create some amazing projects from the primary sources that are already all over HitRECord! |

This is a collaboration aimed specifically at records relating to...you guessed it, anything fairytale or fantasy themed! Now I know the term 'fantasy' covers a HUGE amount of material, and I use the term loosely, in order to encompass almost anything and everything that YOU think is relevant! RECords could be related, or in reference to recognizable fairytales or folklore, or could be more generally related to stories, images, ideas, or atmospheres that remind you of fairytales or childrens stories. For example, I would personally consider RECords relating to the fairy tales of The Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson (which encompass a huge portion of popular fairytales today) to be perfect. All of the fairytales from these two sources are public domain. |
