Haven't been on for awhile, so I'm missing my HitRECord community.

Here's a timelapse from Clear Lake in Northern California taken on 420 (April 20th) from 3-6am. Hope it will be a great resource.

Sometimes the things you think will bring you up or will come up with you only keep you down. Let go of the things that weigh you.

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS!

Metaphorest wrote the beautiful song "Iterations", and now we're going to remix it for the Animated Short Film that we're making together. We're pleased to announce that Robo_J will be producing this new audio remix.

==

Please use this extended version as a reference for the song: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/991906

==

Here's a ZIP Folder with notes and sheet music for a String Quartet & Piano: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1000816

==

Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:

BOW STRING PLAYERS: We're looking for Violin, Viola, and Cell Players to create a string quartet to perform the musical arrangement in this ZIP: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1000816

PIANO PLAYERS: Playing the block chords of each chord change could be very effective if it's very subtle. There are also spaces throughout the song to play a call/response with metaphorest's vocals.

DRUMMERS & PERCUSSIONISTS: Play some 1/8th notes in a nice, steady tempo over the entire song.

ALL OTHER MUSICIANS: If you have any additional ideas for instruments, harmonies, or additional sounds for this song, let's hear 'em!

You can contribute to the "'Iterations' Music" collab here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1000892

Thanks!

CALLING ALL FEMALE VOICE OVER ARTISTS!

Our new Animated Short Film "Unicorn" needs Female VO Artists to RECord readings of the new V3 script.

==

Please use this V3 Script as a reference: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/947950

You can contribute your Voice Overs to the "Unicorn" collaboration here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/886277

IMPORTANT NOTES:

* There are TWO OPENING LINES. Please READ BOTH LINES. We'd like to experiment a bit and see what the best way to introduce the Narrator is - so you cantry reading these lines in as many ways as you'd like!

* Please keep background noise at an absolute minimum. Getting the most crisp, clear audio recording is crucial since this will be used in the Short Film.

* Please upload your audio records as .WAV files and please upload them dry, without reverb or echo.

* Multiple takes are strongly encouraged. Please try different styles and be as creative as you'd like!

* The Narrator is female, and a teenager. Here is a visual reference: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/931764

* The story is being told directly to the audience, as if The Narrator and the audience are face to face.

* The Narrator has a Southern accent, and it should be consistent throughout the reading.

* The script has a few notes regaridng gum chewing early on. There should be gum chewing during the "I was 17..." line. You can simulate the gum chewing, or chew actual gum, during this line. There is a pause after "Well..." in the next sentence. The "bubble pop" sound effect will be added later in post-production.

* The story is told in a very causual, friendly, and welcoming way. It's important to convey this in the reading.

* Also worth noting is that The Narrator is apathetic about the death of the Unicorn; she doesn't seem to think it's a big deal. This should also come through in the reading.

AND NOW, FOR SOME VERY COOL NEWS!

hitRECord has formed a new relationship with Sony through the end of 2012 to power the technology that enables our creative process and to help us spread the art we make together wider across the Internet.

Check out this video for more. I'm really excited about this partnership!

==

I think this partnership really makes a lot of sense: hitRECord makes art using technology and Sony makes technology that people use to make art.

Sony will be providing us with technology to make art together by helping us get equipment for our Mini-Tour this November, supporting certain collaborations (like our new collab "RE: Loops" with Rian Johnson, the director of "Looper",) and they'll help distribute particular finished products far and wide on the web. Sony will also be sending out some NEX cameras out to some of the more prominent and established members of the our community.

And as a result of our partnership with Sony, we'll be able to pay our contributing artists more than we ever have before!

==

Thanks Again!

<3

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS!

ppeppina wrote the lovely (and dark) song "Mademoiselle Noir", and now it's time to build on it for the Animated Short Film we are making together!

==

Please use this Click Track as a reference: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/952525

==

Here's a ZIP Folder with a Chord Chart and Reference Track: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/952516

==

Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:

GUITARISTS: Acoustic guitar, preferably classical, either finger picking, or strumming. As long as it gradually builds.

ACCORDION PLAYERS: Chords. Following the piano in spots, and holding out in others.

MANDOLIN PLAYERS: Preferably single notes, no full chords.

CLARINET PLAYERS: Short phrases that gradually build with the song.

VIOLINISTS & VIOLA PLAYERS: Lines that compliment the melody, maybe following it in places. Held notes during verses.

OTHER MUSICIANS: Feel free to play any other (acoustic) instruments along with the track. Who knows what else could work!

You can contribute to the "'Mademoiselle Noir' Musical Score" collab here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/954186

Thanks!
