... oh dear.
Hi everyone! We've just posted the Profit Proposals for Tour 2012 as well as the Partnerships 2012 Profit Proposals. We're excited for you all to check them out and tell us what you think!
==
In 2012 we were fortunate enough to form partnerships with SONY and Levi's®. As a result of these partnerships, we are able to pay our Contributing Artists more than ever before!
As always, we split profits on hitRECord 50/50. 50% of the profits of these partnerships will go to hitRECord LLC and we thought the best way to allocate these profits was to spread the community's share across all of 2012's productions. The community's share totals $306,772.
==
Here is how we propose to split the $306,772:
* SONY and Levi's Sponsored Videos: 25.75% / $78,994
* Tour 2012: 25.75% / $78,994
* hitRECorderly (4 issues): 25.75% / $78,994
* Tiny Book of Tiny Stories, Vol. 2: 10% / $30,677
* Summer Collection: 2.75% / $8,436
* Resident Curators: 10% / $30,677
==
This Album contains both all of these Profit Proposals: http://www.hitrecord.org/albums/275602
==
The discussion for these Profit Proposals will be open to the community for 2 weeks. Please join the conversation by leaving a remark on the specific Profit Proposal by Wednesday, June 19th.
Thanks again to all of the Contributing Artists, and to both SONY and Levi's® for supporting our creative community!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Profit Proposals for hitRECorderly will be posted once the fourth issue is released.

(old and new)
Things. Favourite things. Things that just make sense to me. Things that I can mount on shelves and smile at regularly.
Old things. Things that barely function but still have their purpose. Things that don't belong to me but now… belong to me. Things I often use, and wear out so spectacularly. Things from across the world. Things that act their age, and those that have no age. Things that hurt but look so bloody beautiful.
New things. Things that are yet to be enjoyed. That, for the moment, function rather well. Things that constantly teach me new things. Things that… I assure you can explain. Things that I just have no idea how to explain. Nevertheless, they are still my favourite things.
At least for now, they are my favourite things.
This is what the first phase of my music RECording looks like. I'm fleshing out a part for Kevin Maistros piece, hitting pause, rewind, pause, rewind every few bars until I find something that sounds nice. When it's all done, I'll go in the attic and record the tracks. I was just sitting here thinking how neat it is to collaborate, and thank goodness for the internet. :)
Finished works are in results.
Added to RE: Fave Things, as it's a visual extension of my contribution, Side Effects.
At the minute I first heard TheBaerGypsy's undescribably beautiful instrumental "Green Set Overture" (go check it out it's amazing!), for some reason I thought of the "Whale house" by rabbleboy. I guess there's just something so surreal and illogical in both of them, they're so beautifully dream-like... I don't know, it's a little experimental but I just had to sing it. Hopefully it inspires someone to do something :) I'll upload the stems first thing tomorrow!
Enjoy <3
It’s all just a bad dream don’t cry
It’s all just a dream, it’ll be alright
Let me tell you what we’ll see when we wake up
Let me tell you what we’ll see, let me tell you where we really are
We sail away on a whale
At the dawn of a brand new day
We’ve planted all the trees and we’ve built our own house
And no one has drowned
We sail away on a whale
No one cries, no one feels pain
Hear how the wind whispers, you heard what she said:
We never shipwrecked
After reading Metaphorest's tiny story, I had an illustration pop into my head. The idea is that this man is so obsessed with a past love that he clones her over and over again to find that same feeling. That perfect someone he lost. While this seems like a sad story, I sort of gave it a semi-happy ending by hinting at his success towards the end. This could also work for The Number One collab.
