The concept behind this collab is to collect a bunch of merchandise ideas from prompts from us (or original ones!) as shywords, lizsmalls, scarlet and I had a massive brainstorming session! So, here are our ideas: HitRECord Artist drawing pad, HitRECord Artist drawing pad, HitRECord Writer’s Journal, HitRECord Writer's Journal, Bookmarks, Pens, Pencils, Postcards, Rulers, Erasers, Pencil cases, Wrapping paper, Passport cases, Folders (i.e. for school/college etc), Stickers, Totes So feel free to use our ideas or come up with new ones (add in remarks and we'll add to the list) and get prototyping! We're also in the process of creating a "hR Accessories" collab for things like keyrings and jewellery. Happy hitRECording! |

Hey guys :) I had an idea a little while ago and I suggested it to Major Tom, who gave her opinion on it (which surprised me) and apparently I should go ahead with it... So here goes! My idea was to get as many people as possible to create a material 6x6inch square with whatever design they want on. The plan was to create a patchwork blanket made by as many hitrecorders as possible, with everyone's love So, I'd love all you guys to get involved and to spread the word! Once your square is made, send it to me and I'll put it all together ♥ Thank you!
The square: • 6x6inches • Preferably cotton/cotton mix • Absolutely no lycra, nylon, tulle or denim • Embellishments can be ANYTHING, but not too close to the edges! I'm sure you all know what a Secret Santa is; well, this is a Secret Valentine collaboration. • "What do I do?" You will send an email to this address: penelope.b95@googlemail.com with your hitRECord name, and "Sweet Somethings" in the subject title! (Also, if you wish to join a Pen-Pal Valentine's Collab, tell me that too!) • "When's the deadline?" 21. January is the deadline for signing up. On the same day I will use my lovely Excel spreadsheet you're all in to number you all and generate random pairs of number to match you up with your Secret Valentine. Someone will be making you a gift, and you will be making someone else a gift. • "And then what?" I will send you an email with the name of the hitRECorder that is your Secret Valentine. • "What should I make?" Whatever you want! You could draw a picture, write them a poem, REmix a video for them, write them a song, sing them a song, whatever! Use your RECording strengths to make them an awesome Valentine's gift. • "Who can join?" EVERYONE! • "When is it due?" Please upload your gifts between the 10. - 14. February! Title them "Secret Valentine for (their username here)" ♥ • "I've signed up, now what?" Get your thinking caps on and spread the word! I'll be waiting for your sign-up emails! EDIT: In answer to a question I have received a few times: The gifts do NOT have to be romantic at all! 04/01/2011: Thank you to everyone who has signed up so far! We have 17 people currently taking part, let's see if we can reach 50, or maybe even 100! 07/01/2011: We're now on 28 people! Keep signing up and getting others to sign up! 08/01/2011: Currently 35 people have signed up! This is getting to a good number guys, let's try to reach 50 by the 11th! 12/01/2011: We now have 40 people! We didn't manage 50, let's try to reach 10 more people soon! 15/01/2011: Right now we're at 44 people. I have sent out reminder emails to the 40 who had joined by the last update, everyone else will receive an email soon! 23/01/2011: I'm a day late due to being crazy busy and having exams, but I'm sending out the emails as I type! We have 52 people now! 01/02/2011: Okay, so you all have two weeks left to make your gifts for your Valentine! ♥ |

FRIENDS, ROMANS, COUNTRYMEN, LEND ME YOUR VOICES. (Shakespeare REmixed. Mmm hmm.) HELLO HITRECORDERS! 2011 starts very soon, beginning another year for hitRECord. I want to create a RECord to embody this. The phrase "Another Year, Another Heart" (thanks, DayGlo!) has been coined and shall be used. I'm thinking getting videos of lots of different RECorders saying the phrases like "are we RECording?" etc. I was planning on using Joe's RECord of the Sundance Invitation, with "Say hello everyone" and everyone saying "hello" (yo, hola, salut etc). SO. The things I currently want MOST: ♥ You saying "hello" in whatever way ♥ You saying "are we RECording?" Things I'd love you to RECord and add to the collab: • You saying hi (or yo. or hola. or whatever.) • You saying "are we RECording?" • You saying "another year, another heart" • You saying "(your username) here" • Your portrait • Some sort of New Year celebration. I don't know, party poppers? ^_^ • AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU THINK OF. Feel free to mention stuff as a remark! (PS: I might be wrong, but isn't 1. January the anniversary of the first Regularity? If it is, surely we can do something for that! But it might not be.) |

RIGHT. So I've had this idea for quite a while (I've been watching the Oliver Twist starring Tom Hardy, BEST Oliver Twist EVER. No joke) and I decided to put it on hitRECord. YAY! Well, Twelfth Night became She's The Man. Oliver Twist is becoming... Olivia Twist. I know, so the title isn't exactly imaginative, but still. I plan on writing parts of the script, then others can join in and film stuff, animate stuff etc etc etc :D Again by heart <3 |

This is something I've been thinking about recently and it's something I really want to do: Promote HitRECord in the United Kingdom. I'm from England myself, and there's a large lack of people that have even heard of HitRECord. If I mention it to one of my friends they give me a "huh?" sort of look, and an explanation really doesn't give HitRECord enough justice for how awesome it really is. I would like to promote HitRECord over here, maybe make some RECords pertaining to issues over here (like the "They Can't Turn the Lights Out" collab) or something else. I would love to be able to have some HitRECord events over here, London is a pretty awesome place for that sort of thing! But for any of that to really happen... I need other people to help on this. Maybe you're from the UK, maybe you're just interested in promoting HitRECord around the world, whatever reason, please join in! I think it would be great if we could really spread the HitRECord love everywhere, and I think bringing more of it to the UK would be great. So, thanks. Happy HitRECording! |

This is a bit like the ReRECommendations collaboration, but as it is almost the end of 2010 (that really rather quite scary, to be honest) I thought that all you HitRECorders out there could create an album of your opinion of the "Best RECords of 2010". Basically: 1) Choose the RECords you think are the best 2) Use probably no more than 10 but no less than 5 3) Do not add your own RECords, after all it is the giving that counts ;) 4) Collaborations can always be suggested as a Best RECord 5) Oh, and obviously the RECord must have been created on the 1st January 2010 or after! I thought that this might help people find things that are really good and maybe hasn't quite been noticed or help people get involved in something that's good and is already quite well established. Please share pictures of your celebrations around the world! I would love for us to all create a "Christmas (And Other Celebrations Around the World) animation or short film or similar. Music is great, as are photos, videos, animations or little anecdotes and other text! Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, feel free to post RECords of any other celebration such as Sankt Nikolas Tag, Hanukkah, Rohatsu and so on! |
