Hi everybody, we're thrilled to post the 2012 Profits for The RECord Store, which include the Profit Proposals for 2012's Summer Collection.
==
Gross profits for 2012 were $62,295 with a Net Income of $27,563 after expenses. 50% goes to hitRECord LLC and 50% goes to all of the Contributing Artists.
The Contributing Artists' share of 2012's profits totals $13,782.
==
The discussion for these Summer Collection Profit Proposals will be open to the community for 2 weeks. Please join the conversation by leaving a comment on the specific Profit Proposal by Friday, May 24th, 2013.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: RECollection Vol. 1 was previously paid out through June 2012 with the last round of checks. We're waiting on some reporting for the second half of 2012's royalty numbers. Once we get the final numbers for July through the end of the year, we'll post that info and pay it out.
With regards to the hitRECorderly subscription series, we need to wait until the fourth issue is released (and fully resourced) in order to post Profit Proposals. hitRECorderly is a unique production as it will be paid out in one block as the issues are sold together as a subscription (as well as individually.)

Thanks Again to all the Contributing Artists! <3
IMPORTANT NOTE: These Proposals do not currently include the additional profit totals from our relationship with SONY and Levi's®. We will be releasing those figures to the community soon - so please stay tuned!

CALLING ALL WRITERS, ILLUSTRATORS & CURATORS: COME WORK ON THE NEW "TINY BOOK OF TINY STORIES!" :oD
With over 13,000 contributions & counting, wirrow's "Tiny Stories, Volume 3" is the most popular collaboration on all of hitRECord. We're going to be making the 3rd Volume of our book deal with Harper Collins and we need to begin focusing on writing & illustrating new Tiny Stories, as well as curating the collaboration.
==
The "Tiny Stories, Volume 3" Collaboration is here: http://www.hitrecord.org/collaborations/1953
==
Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:
WRITERS: Write a Tiny Story.
ILLUSTRATORS: Illustrate a Tiny Story while trying to not match the story word-for-word; try and add something new.
REMIXERS: Match a Tiny Story with an Illustration you find on hitRECord.
TEXT EDITORS: Edit another artist's Tiny Story or "Tinify" a longer Text Record that you like on the site.
VISUAL REMIXERS: Remix an Illustration by collaging multiple images together or drawing additional elements.
CURATORS: Make Albums of your favorite Tiny Stories and Illustrations. With over 13,000 contributions, this is super helpful in identifying the best RECords that the community can remix.
==
IMPORTANT NOTE: We have a DEADLINE & need all contributions in by SATURDAY, JUNE 1st, 2013!

Thanks!

I didn't know what kind of animation to make because action scenes were really hard so I made something weird instead.. sigh sigh I wish perspective was easier to draw..
the image is dated july 31, 2007. it went into the post within 24 hrs.
a blue box, 1 black and white camera, 1 color camera, a journal, a greeting/instruction card. a stack of envelopes personally addressing each participant with instruction on where to send it next. it was going to dan first, that's why his envelope is on the top of the stack. nervous and exciting times for sure!
ps: some where down the line people started to refer to the PJC box as "little blue" and it stuck.
I visited a Cindy Sherman exibit, and saw she did something sort of like this, so I gave it a try. It turns out I can't stop making them and I'm having an art show next month.
I made this by taking photogrpahs of people walking, printing them, then cutting each figure out and then glueing! It's so very worth it.
