Calling all Writers, all Vocalists, all Visual Artists... EVERYONE. The REGULARITY is here!
In this weeks Regularity I cover a damn good writing exercise in the collaboration Dialogue Tales.
Dan The Automator and I request some vocals for the incredibly killer beat that Dan made just with HITRECORD audio records.
And I wanna bring back a big favorite and popular collaboration, Shadow Caste. We have the concept and a bunch of great visuals and characters - let's start making some episodes out of it!
Thanks Again.

Hey HITRECORD! Here is version 1 of the collage song that I made with all of your great audio tracks. It's pretty atmospheric with plenty of room for vocals - so VOCALISTS, RAPPERS, SPOKEN WORD ARTISTS, please add your creative skills!
There are about 30 to 40 pieces of audio in here and I will be resourcing them all shortly.
Thank you so much for having me remix your killer tracks and thanks especially to everyone for such great recommendations on which ones to use!
Did something for C.McCarthy's Anxious Dreamer.
The first thing I thought of when I read that tiny story was a hand trying to grab hold of the dreams. Then when I was drawing, I decided I wanted to show the sleeper, as well as her looking out at all her dreams. So I drew two representations of the dreamers.
All the 'dreams' that you see in there are some of the dreams I recall having when I was younger. I counted sheeps and dreamed of sheeps, and always the flying pigs, of castles and magic, and once, a world where love grows on trees and people visited it for.
Wonderful little story, I think. :D
Gary Oldman reads "The Man With a Turnip For a Head"
Here is Gary Oldman reading "The Man With a Turnip For a Head" at the hitRECord Fall Formal at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles on October 10, 2011. I've included two versions:
1) "Gary_Oldman_Turnip_Fall Formal 2011", THIS version, is a RECord representative of the sound in the theater, with handles at the top and tail.
2) "Gary_Oldman_Turnip_FF 2011_CLEAN" (here)is comprised of the voice mic only, no ambience or audience mics. This would be the version to use for VO on top of music or SFX, as it's been optimized for that purpose. You'll note that there's still a fairly good amount of ambience being picked up by the mic. Rather than try to remove it all, I (as deftly as possible) merely pulled out a couple of the crowd laughs and inserted some fill in their place to keep the read as clean as possible. Didn't touch any timings, breaths, or even lip smacks, though. You're welcome to do so if you like : )
