after the final frames were taken, like an awesome elf, dan sent the PJC box (aka little blue) back to me in san francisco. i remember having him send it to my friend margaret's home because, at the time, my mail was being stolen. after all it had been through, i couldn't risk loosing it to theft. it arrived on x-mas eve and awaited me under margaret's tree. hands down, the absolute best x-mas present ever! thanks for making that happen, dan. <3

and it totally worked!

i wished to keep the blue box, containing the cameras and journal safe. so i did a little sticker collage with that in mind. ganesha, the hindu elephant god, is known as the lord of beginnings and lord of removing or overcoming obstacles.

the image is dated july 31, 2007. it went into the post within 24 hrs.

a blue box, 1 black and white camera, 1 color camera, a journal, a greeting/instruction card. a stack of envelopes personally addressing each participant with instruction on where to send it next. it was going to dan first, that's why his envelope is on the top of the stack. nervous and exciting times for sure!

ps: some where down the line people started to refer to the PJC box as "little blue" and it stuck.

upon the return of its first leg, this message was found written on the inner top, of the outer box. i wonder who wrote it?

a new record for an old timer.  :)

in case you needed more of it. tom and jerry began their wild holiday display, at their private residence (here in san francisco), more than 25 years ago. what is clear is that they do it simply for the enjoyment of those who encounter it. i'd say that's about as "in the spirt of" as it gets. :)
