My idea for a theme is masks. What is your inner you? What, why and how do you mask your true self.
Hi! My name is Rae Ann P.
Initial that RAP
I guess the right industry.
Call me a rap virgin,
Because its my first time,
Never had the patience or time
To sit back and bust a rhyme
Check it out..
What to rap about?
About my new dance,
Or this gun in my pants?
Or the fact that I make stacks off of contraband?
Fuck outta here..
That's not what I'm about
Let's talk somthing real
Not what the media plays out..
Every day is a struggle
To pay the bills
Some got two jobs to juggle
Far from Beverly Hills
Have you ever seen a kid scrap for something to eat?
It's not a sweet sight to see this mistreat
Mom just got off her dead end job
To find out her husband just got laid off
Now with this stress,
Having her all depressed,
Booze is the only thing she injests.
She begins not to care,
Just sits there and stares,
Acts as if nobody's there.
The kids live in fear
because dad is not here
He ran out on them for reasons unclear.
Sometimes she gets violent
But the kids keep their silence
Out on the streets
Because it's better than beat.
So how am I doing?
Are my raps too deep?
I, too hear America singing
But I choose to sing a different song
I still take pride in my country
When the flag is raised I sing along.
I am diverse, like most of us
We are not the same, but in "God" we trust
We have similar values; not beliefs
We stand together and hail to the chief!
We lower hats; raise hand over heart
As our beloved anthem proudly starts
Some do not however, thats ok
because in America we do things our way.
To sum up my life in twenty lines,
I'm a troubled teen with my own mind.
There are times I may act like a fool,
When I should be getting grades in school.
Some think I'm just loud and immature,
But they cannot see I am much, much more.
Although I am young I have learned much,
About life, and death, and love and such.
I learned about life; my friend took his,
Only fifteen, he was just a kid.
I learned about death, I just had seven.
I've know about this since I was eleven.
I learned about love; my heart was broken.
It wasn't love until I left him.
As I grow older, I begin to see,
The world does not revolve around me.
Art is my life; give me a pencil,
I'll show you my world using a stencil.
I don't need Thoreau to teach me life,
Because I'm living it, day and night.
