I was inspired by MERYLtastic's A New Earth Visual Poem, where she did something very similar to this, where the poem is shaped to a globe. She said to freel free to play around, and I have played with fonts and colour! The closer to the end of the poem you get, the more diverse the fonts are, although I don't know how well that comes across.
And of course, I couldn't have done it without the transcription!
UPDATE 10th Jan 2012:
I'm going to go ahead and contribute this to the New Earth Typography collab started by RegularJoe. I know this RECord isn't what he was asking for (i.e. it's not separate lines to be used individually as titles) but because it is typography, it seemed appropriate, somehow. Maybe it will foster ideas? Or help in some way? At any rate, I thought it couldn't hurt.
This is a textless version of my Ice Wolf remix. sBo (the main remixee!) suggested I submit it to the Little Red collab and I thought well, ok, why not. Even though the original image was not specifically Little Red-ish, it still looks suitably growly, I think. And the resources might be usable, or give inspiration?
I've removed the non-Little Red text. I've tweaked a bit to rebalance it after removing the text, and in the original the cloak was black, so I thought, what the hey, and I've coloured it to red.
This is something a bit sketchified from me trying out my graphics tablet. A very strange bird with a strange name...I have NO idea where he came from!
For I will soon be here,
To place my hands beneath your feet
And curl my fingers round your toes,
To vault you up to
I broke into your heart
and left mine there,
like a thief in reverse.
Inscribe me in your pages,
Recite me in your verse.
Draw my likeness in your songs,
sBo mentioned in comments that she had a secret hope someone would add colour to her calligraphy for Todd's Dream Twins Sonnet. I couldn't resist having a try!
