kellibean's RECommendations
This is a French silent film about love and loss. I was really inspired by the music that accompanies this piece, and I loved the grainy, cut-up look of the footage in ESCARGOTS, and the idea for it just sort of popped in my head, so here it is.
And here is where I must admit: French is my third language (the first being Swedish, the second English), and sometimes it really shows. I don't speak it on a daily basis and I found myself struggling with the correct words and sentence structure. Hopefully a native speaker can let me know what rubbish I've done with their poor language and is willing to help me out.
The English translation of the mini-story I wrote:
The days have become lonely, and gray.
I have become nothing. I do not exist anymore, only between the shadows.
Remember our first meeting?
There was this color. I loved every part of you.
Your eyes, your laughter. The beauty of your bones.
But now you are gone.
I live in a fog.
I cannot live without you.
So I will not.

This is kind of how it was.
Sometimes I wish I was a music maker. Then it would feel complete.

An artsy flick for the fartsy francophiles, based on the poem Chanson des escargots qui vont
I I took this great piece by Marke and instead of doing the work I was supposed to be doing played with it for a couple hours and came up with this.
I'm going to work on this more and make something better, but thought I'd share and see if there's any suggestions before I go further. Also if anyone wants to add sound or the like please feel free to do so.

A bit on the political side? Sure. A comment on Nixon and Vietnam? Absolutely.
I'm not a political person at all. I just want peace and freedom.
I used some very valuable public domain footage for this and put the links below.

Been itching to use cerebis and SFBakstad's beautiful timelapses for a while - so decided to do a reading (eek) and make a video for one of my poems.
It's written from the perspective of an old man full of regret. Bit gloomy - a cautionary tale to myself suppose - a reminder to live every second.

If my buddy Dan were an ape, this is how one of his dreams may have looked.
