I am uploading my RE RECS early today, because I have to work the whole weekend!

Hi Guys!!!!

This is Gaby and these are my Recommendations for This week. This time I decided to present my RE RECS in a different way, it’s some kind of Collage or Remix, so I hope you all enjoy it, the title of my RE RECS this week is: Monitoring RE RECS.

I am recommending this week 17 records: 14 illustrations, 1 song and 2 videos.

Now I am going to give some ideas and highlights about every record that I am recommending:

1. Just Asleep by Thereyizzle: I think that this is a fantastic illustration, very mysterious and intriguing, and is not only an illustration, is based on a tiny story that Thereyizzle also did, and I think is just wonderful and it’s a great addition to the Tiny Stories, Volume 3 collab.


2. Time LOOP by milenamilak: Another beautiful illustration made by Milena, in this case she creates this lovely character, a clock, the time loop, she wrote: if it ever happens to me I hope the Time Loop'd be gentle (man!), I think it’s a great idea and it could be useful for remixes or posters about the loops collab.


3. Lips by mouette: When I saw this drawing for the first time I just said: WOW! Isn’t this beautiful? Is really amazing how mouette was able to capture a lot of feelings, through this illustration, the expression of the girl is amazing; I think she needs a story, who is she? What happened to her? Why she looks so sad? Someone?


4. Extra Elements & Props – RE: Iterations by Papersquid: There are a lot of great contributions to the Iterations collab and this one is one of my favorites, I especially love the colors and textures that Papersquid used here, and my favorites are the candies and the Balloon. Just lovely!


5. All kinds of sweets by Wink: What Can I say, this is wonderful as every single illustration created by wing, we have here a lot of great resources for the Iterations collab, especially I really think that it’s great because it doesn’t have colors, so other hitrecorders can play with this, so what are you waiting for?


6. Candy Handbags scarves (Iterations) by Pantoufle: Another great contribution for the Iterations collab, in this case I think that the coloring is just wonderful, my favorites are the cupcakes and the donuts, they looks very real, I think that this must be used for the collab, these elements are really fantastic.


7. The Raven by Sarah Frances: We have a lot of great illustrations for the Raven at HR, with a lot of different interpretations and different colors, textures and ideas, and this one is one of my favorite so far, I really love how Sarah creates the body, with different shapes and colors, I really love this, great job!!!!


8. Mademoiselle Noir On Fire by Gyllenmaya: I really like this concept, and I love Darren’s interpretation of marielv’s animation ending, he wrote: Mademoiselle engulfed in flames, shed her first few drops of tears and quietly continued chanting/singing till the burning fire succumbs her” I think he did a great job here.


9. Spring Nymph by amoderndame: I think this illustration is beautiful and a great addition to the Characters collab. I really love the colors and the style of this drawing; I would love to see more illustrations made by this hitrecorder: amoderndame.


10. Stay Warm by aica: This is just very cute and lovely, and these are 2 characteristics that we always can found in aica’s work. There’s always a story behind and the colors and characters are just wonderful, great job as always girl!!


11. Hat, shoes, bags (Iterations) by rejjie: Lots of great resources and elements for the Iterations collab, rejjie made these hats, shoes and bags and they are great, once again I love the idea that they don’t have colors, so they can be remixed by the community.


12. Covet by Bloemday: What a brilliant remix, this is a perfect example on how you can find the proper resources and create something totally new and beautiful, like in this case Bloemy did, I think that the resources, colors and different images works perfectly together.


13. Scaredy Cat (paper) by sinnamin: Nancy created with paper this lovely scared cat for my Halloween collab, and I just love it, I had cats before and that’s exactly how they look when they are scared, I think that this is a great resource for remixing, especially for Halloween and also you can create new stories about it, like the one that MadisenMusic wrote which I think is great.


14. Life Loop Remix by SkaurMusic: I used this beautiful remix for my Loops video, because I really love the concept and the ideas behind SkaurMusic remix, this is another example of the use of the proper resources and how putting them together you can create something awesome like in this great and brilliant remix.


15. NYC night city time-lapse by Jehugarcia: I love time lapses, and this one is really great, I especially love the fact that it was made in NYC one of my favorite places in the world, great job as always Jehugarcia.


16. Flying Bird 01 (Iterations) by Brookeduckart: Great animation resource for the Iterations collab, Brooke did a great job in this one, that’s a great example on how other hitrecorders can create animations of the animals and different elements for this collab.


17. Chameleons – Demo live by Ola_szmidt: I love Ola’s music, and I specially love this song, it’s the perfect music for a Sunday afternoon, you can be listening this song while you are drinking a hot chocolate and you’re reading your favorite book or meditating.

I love editing, and I don’t get to do much of it these days, so I wanted to try and edit something for the HITRECORDERLY #3... However I suspect this might not fit in with the vibe of it.

But I just wanted to say 2 important things:

1. A lot of the great editing here was not done by me. I’ve taken small chunks and large chunks of other people’s already edited videos and just played around with them. So my hats off to people like MattConley, Dr Gory, RedHeadMonster, jehuGarcia, missamerica, Ryan Patrick, jcpeterson, and others (and please bear with me while I do the resourcing).

2.  Towards the end of this video I have included footage of Joe talking about his brother. I had no intention of doing this when I started, and obviously I’m quite nervous about bringing up something that’s so personal for Joe. But what he says not only about his brother, but more so about the HR community, is just so perfect that it became impossible not to include.

Anyway, I had a great time making this cause it forced me to go back and really experience the history of this place... So I hope it puts a smile on your face.

Hi everyone, this is my curator introduction video.

I'm am so excited to be given this opportunity and to be part of such a talented group of people.

Just as a summary, the video RECords I

Outstanding Inspirational clips - this maybe creative short films, short animations or just amazing visual idea's. They don't neccessarily have to be complete or polished products, as long as the idea or story is original & clear and has the potential to be developed.

Great Stock footage - there has been a load of great films made on HitRECord almost entirely from stock clips people have uploaded. Even the most ordinary of clips can be be given new meaning and life.

Real Life Stories - One of the things unique to HitRECord as a production company is the fact that we have talented artists from all across the world. I really like watching real life genuine everyday stories and these have the potential to be developed into documentary series. I also really like the HitRECorder profile video's of people talking about themselves and their art.

Knowledge - I would love to see more examples of sharing our skills through video, but across all mediums - song writing, drawing, wrinting etc alongside more traditional software/equipment type videos. Even user made 'How to HitRECord' type video's would be great for new users....all done in a creative interesting way, obviously!

VIDEO EDITORS- You guys are rocking the Fall Formal footage! Really great turnaround of some quality edits are already popping up all over the site.  Each cut is a great foundation for creating various short films. Super exciting! 

I just wanted to take the opportunity to highlight some of the work coming out of RegularJOE's request regarding Fall Formal Live Edits.

Simple points to remember moving forward as these edits grow:

• Try not to include any dead visual space - make sure that all camera movements, zooms and shakiness add to edit and don't distract the viewer.


• If your cutting to a music track - edit to the beat


• If you cutting to a dialouge or monolouge - edit to the speech


• please resource other edits that you have included in your cut and or has influenced your edit. That way everyone can be credited :)
