jeffpeff's RECommendations
Both jcpeterson's and m00njumper's edits of the Sia performance got me thinking about this idea a long time ago, and well, I wanted to see if it worked or not. It's kinda and experiment on trying something new with these Fall Formal performances.
Any thoughts - do you guys like it?
Thanks
(it's kinda difficult to watch on a small screen, full screen is definatley better to use)

- you can yell
intimacy
is not something you can give
it is not something you can give away
intimacy
is only something you can share
with someone else
when you are children for a day
intimacy
is not something you can yell
it is not something you can yell alone
intimacy
is only something you can shout
it's only something you can shout
with someone else when you find youth inside your bones
The song we're putting together with the legendary Dan the Automator of Gorillaz has gotten a wide variety of great vocal contributions. I love where it's headed!
VOCALISTS: When you upload your vocal contributions, we need your stems! In order for the community to remix your contributions into Automator's beat, we need to have your isolated vocals on a high quality .wav or. aiff file. You can ZIP file them and upload to the site.
I really loved JackMorrison's record "The Links" and it reminded me of Animal Collective. I was really into how the voices were all singing in syncopation. That's a really great direction for this song to go in. The main thing to keep in mind when performing syncopated harmonies like JackMorrison does on "The Links" is to keep the vocal notes in the right pitch and stay in line with the rhythm. I would encourage JackMorrison to perform multiple takes to get his vocal harmonies precise to the rhythm of the beat.
I also loved the hip-hop contributions from Riggysfort and KamPAIGN and I'm thinking this track will eventually have a combination of singing and rapping.
I'm excited to see this track coming together. Let's keep up the good work!
Thanks again,

hitRECord is expanding so that our production company can meet the growth that's knocking at our door. One of the first orders of business is to take on some new staff. I think we'd all agree that given the growth of the community, a Community Director is needed. The Community Director will help curate the site, assist the community with daily support and to be a reliable line of communication between the company and the community.
The candidate for this position was an easy choice. Matt Conley has shown his commitment as a team player countless times and he has been ever so consistent with making and running the RE-REC collaboration for over a year now. I'm happy to make him hitRECord's first Community Director!
As with everything on hitRECord, job roles and responsibilities will most definitely grow and become more defined with time and experience. So with that said, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you hitREcord's new Community Director, Mr. Matt Conley!
Thanks Again.
