I woke up this morning & without any warning I started mourning the death of us Later that night I had a good fright & with all of my might I forgot about us The next day went & the next day came but thoughts of us still filled my brain Sleep grew nearer my mind grew clearer I dreamt of us even through the pain I then realized that your final demise was when your eyes could no longer disguise your tornado of lies From that point on I knew we were wrong I bet I knew it all along I've been wrapped in a cacoon but I know that sometime soon I'll close my eyes & take a breath I'll fly away & start over fresh |

There once was a ball that felt rather dreary He grew tired of his purpose, which seemed so ordinary Being kicked around & tossed about He wanted something different, there was no doubt He said his goodbyes with a tearful squeak The bike whispered to the scooter, “I’ll give him four days” To which the scooter replied, “Nah, let’s give him a week” The ball, at first, was doing well He made new friends & even saw his cousin Mel He saw the sites & played in the park But soon the night grew nearer & the sky grew dark He became frightened of the things unknown He was scared, cold, & all alone He roamed around for a safe place to sleep When before he knew it, he was in a hole at least one foot deep He tried to get out nearly all night long & didn’t give up until it was breaking dawn A few hours passed & no luck came his way Now he truly regretted that he ever rolled away He thought of all the good times he’s shared With friends & family that truly cared He thought of his mom, dad, & his girlfriend Joyce When, at last, he heard a familiar voice “My ball!” exclaimed an excited little girl She picked him up & did a little twirl She tossed him about & kicked him around But on his face was still a frown Wait, no, you’re just looking at him from upside down |
