Are we recording? We are an open, collaborative production company. Come work with us!

Well, I don't know what will happen after this. I've always dreamed of being a curator and a lead animator--and the latter almost came true. This video that I made in my sleep may put me in the dog house forever. Or it will gain me some respect. We'll see.

The point of it is, the community is collaborating less and less as Season Two wears on. I don't know if I'm just collateral damage on Jared's path to another Emmy or what, but I know that a lot of people have expressed concern (to put it mildly) over the processes here.

The collaborators at Wikipedia say this:

"Collaboration is working with others to do a task and to achieve shared goals. It is a recursive process where two or more people or organizations work together to realize shared goals..."

We totally miss the recursive process in hitRECord on TV. It is a one-way street. RECords and collaborations are hijacked and turned into vehicles for famous actors. Animators are selected to work on animations until their work doesn't match an exact vision. Then the project is handed to someone who is already animating another segment. People contribute for years on hitRCord only to see new people breeze in and get cherry gigs without earning their stripes or demonstrating commitment to the community. (I mean no disrespect to any of the other artists on the site, new or veteran. I'm bitching about the process, not you or your work. Keep on rocking!)

Watch the video. I make most of my points there, even if it was 3:30 in the morning. The title is kind of tongue in cheek.
