I have always loved lighthouses and never really known why. First, let me start off by saying how much I love this site not only because of the free flowing creativity, but also because it challenges me to think critically about art and beauty.

I love how lighthouses emit light at night and serve as a guide for seafarers who would not see obstructions otherwise. Lighthouses protect, they guide, and they keep one on their destined path. This idea also got me thinking about how people could serve as lighthouses. Who's yours?

This photograph is of one of the first churches to be built in the Dominican Republic.

I just love the buildings and structures you'll find in the Dominican Republic. I believe this the building where their parliament meets or used to meet? Regardless I love everything about it, especially the flag hanging out the window.

I took this while on a trip to Galveston, Texas. To me, this photograph screams freedom. I don't know why- it just does.

This photograph was taken during a trip to Alaska. I was actually sitting at the back of a 15 passenger van and had to turn around to get this shot. Of course I apologized to the poor people who were sitting on either side of me, but it was worth it ;)

I feel really lucky to have gotten the chance to capture this scene :)
