GV’s RE RECS Video for Sunday, 02-24-2013
Hello guys!
These are my recommendations video of the week. I am recommending 20 records this Sunday, 16 illustrations, 2 videos and 2 music recommendations, I am not going to recommend a hitrecorder of the week this time but I’ll recommend someone next week.
Please go and check all these wonderful records and their artists and recommend them, and don´t forget to read my comments and remarks for each one of them and maybe you’ll find some inspiration to do something new and creative with all these amazing records.

RE RECS:
- Traveler – Tiny Illustration by Vanessavdbroeck: Vanessa made this wonderful illustration inspired in Pantoufle’s tiny story: “Sometimes it feels like I'm a traveler in my own mind”. I think she did a great job because the illustration fits perfectly with Pantoufle’s story, maybe someone else can create a new remix or add some colors to this beautiful image.
- Door – Presidio La Bahía by skatebard: What a wonderful picture, I think is a perfect resource as a background or maybe for some kind of remix. I really love how Sid captured the textures and colors of this door; I think that this is a beautiful place and a gorgeous shot.
- Sky Diver (Close up) by Li: Another gorgeous and original illustration made by Li. I think this is a perfect example of an illustration that can be very useful for different purposes, especially for remixers or for writers. I would love to see someone writing a story for it. Lovely work as always!
- The bridge of the Sighs by Fauxvillain: Another beautiful shot. We have so many talented photographers on Hitrecord that are around the world taking beautiful photos, full of colors and stories like this one. I think that these kinds of contributions on HR are very important because they can be an inspiration for all the wonderful writers that we have here as well. Awesome shot!
- Limbo – Pandemonia by Gyllenmaya: Darren is been contributing with a lot of wonderful illustrations about this character Linda 'Limbo' Braithwaite and I think that the whole story and concept is fantastic and have a lot of potential, in fact I hope Darren create a collab for this interesting character very soon, a lot of people can be involve and contributing with more texts, videos, animations or remixes, possibilities are endless.
- Clouds Talking by MintiCat: I love this because I think is very unique and the idea behind the illustration is brilliant because I remember that when I was a little girl and I sat down in the backyard and I was watching the sky with my brother trying to find shapes and images in the clouds, I always thought that the clouds were talking to each other that’s why I really love this image, maybe someone can create a tiny story for it.
- She waits by elayne: elayne is always contributing with lovely and unique records and this is not the exception. This kind of illustrations have a lot of potential, because they can be used for remixers, animators or writers can be inspired to create a story based on this kind of illustration, also maybe someone can add some colors to this or perhaps, create a tiny animation? Someone? Lovely work as always elayne.
- Urban Reality by Jonlock: One of my favorite illustrators on Hitrecord right now, Jonlock captured my attention one more time with this wonderful illustration of a character named Sweet Lily, and this image is the cover page of his new comic which I think is based on some kind of urban legends and creepy things. I think that this character could be a great addition to the Grimm Gallery on HR or maybe someone can create new stories based on this image.
- Patterns of worms by Krstn: This is an awesome contribution for the backgrounds album/collab so it could be useful for animators, video editors or remixers. I think it also looks like some kind of candies, maybe gummy worms? And I love the colors as well.
- Hana and Blort by embiearts: embiearts have a lot of wonderful illustrations on her HR profile page, but this is the one that captured my attention. I think that is perfect for writers because they can be inspired to create some story or tiny story for these 2 characters, who are they? What’s the story behind them?
- Ying Yang by Kensa: This is just adorable, I love this illustration, some hitrecorders already made some remixes based on this beautiful image but I would love to see more, I think that maybe someone can create an animation or perhaps make some new remixes with different backgrounds or colors, I think there’s a lot of possibilities with this illustration.
- My precious place by Whitesharkmoon: A lot of people tell me that I live in Paradise, but come one, THIS is paradise, what a lovely place and what a gorgeous shot, it seems like this is unreal, the colors are just so bright and vivid, I definitely want to live in this place. Awesome shot Whitesharkmoon.
- Scotland’s Fishermen by JasonAngelone: Another great contribution made by Jason and this is another example of an illustration that can be used for a lot of purposes, I would love to see somebody making a tiny animation or short film with this beautiful animation, the colors and textures look so real that it doesn’t seems to be a painting because the water and sky look like a picture. Awesome work as always!
- Puppet, Dollhouse series by artgirl: What can I say? Bella doesn’t stop of amaze me, every time that I think that she can’t do better, she surprise us with new beautiful illustrations like this one, I think it’s kind of creepy but beautiful at the same time, the colors are stunning. I would love to see someone making a remix or tiny story for this image.
- Lost and found by chadilaksono: I love the style of this illustration, it remind me to some children’s book images that I read when I was a little girl. I think that this is another illustration that can be an inspiration for writers to create a story for these characters, someone?
- Whale by ponderingpigeons: Since I saw this illustration on HR like 4 days ago, I fell in love with this, for me is like the person that is watching the whale is some kind of sea creature that look like a person but belong to the sea and is just there watching or playing with this whale, anyway it’s just my imagination, what do you think about that? What’s the story behind this illustration?
Videos:
- Animation La Belle et la Bête (First scene) by OnlyB: I was waiting for somebody to create an animation for all these wonderful shadows/silhouettes characters that sojushots created and I think that OnlyB did a wonderful job, I would love to see more.
- Dreamshare Commercial by Fraeulein: This is awesome and a perfect example of what hitrecord is about: Collaborations between hitrecorders. I think that the idea behind this record is brilliant and interesting, fraeulein did a wonderful job making this video, and I love Taylor’s performance as well, awesome job guys!

- Mostly by Joerud: Another great song of the wonderful musician Joerud, please make yourself a favor and listen to this song. Awesome job as always Joe.
- Black Snow (version 2) by wonderfulpanda: I really enjoy listening to this song, I think is beautiful and it makes me feel peaceful and relax, this song is part of my music library already, just wonderful! :)
