the ephelant and the giffera once fell in love
when much too tiny to realize how wrong it’was
pacing and galloping, stomping and trumpeting
they played with such harmony in each other’s company
but soon they would find no fallen drops from the sky
their rivers and lakes could only run dry
migration over lands would surely tear them apart
their families had no cares for their tiny broken hearts
said the giffera to the ephelant: i’ll think of you every sunset
said the ephelant to giffera: and of our friendship
i most assuredly will never forget
