I recently got a slider for my camera so what do I do? I use the crap out of it! I've always wanted to do something for the "How I hitRECord" collab but had no idea what to do, then this came to mind—a little look into a day in the life of Mr. Me. 

Also, I thought some of these shots could be useful to the rest of you RECorders since they're pretty nondescript.

With voice-over by girlafraid. Everything is cut to the beat, the melody drops off after the voice-over begins, allowing for added instrumentation throughout. bpm of 101.

Pressing start is just the half of it at this point.

I know there are some issues with the black background peaking through with what's 'behind' it, but I kind of like these errors. It all feels like part of the older gaming system experience to me!

If anyone else feels like animating or just toying around with pixel shadows or the backgrounds and titles I've been playing with here just let me know. I'd be happy to make an album with all the pieces of this puzzle for you!

So here's the final version of Iterations.  I hope you like it.

Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:

EVERYONE: You could RECord yourself talking into a camera about your thoughts regarding Outsiders and upload your video to hitRECord.

WRITERS: Write a story or an essay.

ILLUSTRATORS: Draw a picture.

MUSICIANS: Make a song.

VIDEO EDITORS: Take footage from hitRECord and cut together a short film.

ANIMATORS: Put a series of images into motion.

CURATORS: Go through all the different records in the collaboration and make an Album of all the stuff that you think is good.

We're going to be doing a mini tour of our Live Shows this autumn so everything we're working on at hitRECord has the potential to screen at one of our shows, or be included in one of our works of publishing, or end up on a vinyl record we make together.

All profits get split with the contributing artists 50/50 on hitRECord.

And, as you may or may not know, we recently announced a really cool partnership with Levi's®. They are going to support our upcoming tour, distribute some of our videos across the Internet, and they're going to help us pay our contributing artists way more than we've ever been able to before!

Levi's® has quite a history of supporting innovative art and artists. I'm honored that hitRECord and our community are joining the long list of artists that Levi's has collaborated with, which include Shephard Fairey, The Andy Warhol Foundation, Damien Hirst, and James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem.

2012 is shaping up to be a pretty busy year for hitRECord. Later in the year we're doing a mini tour of our Live Shows with the support of Levi's. They are also going to be distributing our more polished videos far and wide on the Interwebs. And not only that, we'll all be collaborating to create a limited edition piece of art together.
