chelsea's Collaborations
|
One of the ideas I've been tossing back and forth for a while now is getting all the hitrecorders from NYC together to make a short film about how our city influences our film, writing and art. NYC is a city of art; its architecture, its story, its people are all works of art. What I'm asking my fellow New Yorkers to do is make a video of yourself telling me what you love about NYC, the challenges of producing art in NYC, and why you choose to display your art on hitrecord. For instance, I choose to use hitrecord because I think art should be collaborative, not competative (and let's face it, one of our city's virtues/faults is its competition. it drives us and drains us). If all the actors, screenwriters, and artists of NYC got together, could you imagine the art we could produce? You could also shoot some footage of places you like to write in, photograph, film, etc. I (and maybe some other interested people?) will cut the best parts and put it together in a cohesive short film. The theme is "mycity. myrecord." Take it and run with it, and post your records. Eventually I'd like to see the response from other hitrecorders in other cities, to compare how our cities influence our art. If there aren't enough hitrecorders in NYC and i get interest from people in other cities, maybe i'll expand the idea. Tell me what you think. |
