"Welcome to the Store of Life! Can I interest you in buying some Time? Or perhaps, you'll take a few Chances?" - JohnnyClyde's tiny story "Store of Life".
It has been a while since I last did any illustration for tiny stories! Ever since I saw this story by JohnnyClyde I have been thinking of illustrating it. I got the idea for the illustration early last month but work has been crazy at the time and then I went home to Hong Kong for a 3 weeks holiday... The laziness resulting from the holiday almost made me forget all the little details I had in mind for this >_<
P.S. I wonder how many people would understand my terrible sense of humour...
Shot this earlier today when I was riding the ferry that went from Hong Kong Island to the Kowloon peninsula.
I thought we have quite a few videos shot from train windows but not so many from a ferry, so here's my attempt to rectify that. Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot a night time version (so you can see all the lights coming from all those buildings) before I fly back to London...
Never really done VO before because I tend to jumble the words up when I read out loud (yes I'm dyslexic) and have a weird accent...
God I hate listening to my own voice D: (even though it's not exactly the same as my voice because I have messed with the tempo and pitch a little bit)
There has been a lot of great designs for the Turnip Man and out of all the ones I have seen, my favourite is the one by rinku726. I just think her design has really captured the essence of the character - the sad smile, the slight hunch in the back etc.
Here I tried to create a character sheet for animators based on her design and I have incorporated Jacky Dan's idea on the hat XD Also I did some research on how one could create a pencil sketchy look in a video and I stumbled upon this tutorial for After Effects: http://ae.tutsplus.com/tutorials/motion-graphics/give-your-video-a-pencil-sketched-look Unfortunately I do not have AE installed on my current computer so I could only test the filter on still image instead of a video clip and I have included the result of the 2 quick tests I did.

Characters from the MMM universe collaborating with the Shadow Beings to celebrate Christmas (aka my totally unofficial Christmas card for all you HitRecorders)
Something random I started to cheer myself which turned into this piece. Hope it puts a smile on your face as it did on mine :D
