Just under a year ago, I got a hitRECord cheque for $3.43. Today I got a cheque for $67.08. I remember last time I said that I never thought my art was worth anything, that it was an amazing experience to discover that your art is appreciated somewhere, by someone. I’m not saying that money is what makes art worth something, but it does help fund what I like to do, and help me keep doing it. It makes me unbelievably happy to know that this $67.08 actually represents opportunities that I have had to create, to work with amazing people, to be part of something bigger. And that is worth more than any money. Honestly, next time pay me in jelly beans. I put my first hitRECord cheque on my wall to remind myself that anything is possible, no matter how late you start, no matter how you fall into what you enjoy doing. You can make it work. I’m going to invest this money in a new microphone so I can keep making stuff, just making it better. And maybe a new hat. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, hitRECord, for bringing me on this adventure with you. Here’s to the next challenge!!

my idea kind of is that everything we read becomes a part of us.. :) :) partly inspired by pam and Illia's conversations about the impacts of their writing, i am not the best writer but other peoples writing has a huge impact on me :D
