here is a little ditty i wrote for my sweetest friend, lauren, when she was feeling a little blue.

there once was a rabbit named gator
hopped away from his patch & said “later!”
jumped high
& jumped low
finding places to go
until he met a nice bird named tater

tater wore a hat made of sticks & leaves
told gator he’d make him one if he liked what he sees
so gator said “yes!”
& collected a mess
until he had a hat made of dirt & trees

tater & gator were the best of friends
stuck together til the very end
wore fancy hats
& were chased by cats
then fell asleep to sweet dreams around 10
