Being a young woman in a society that is pretty much male-dominant can be tough at times. I have noticed many things that imply that a woman is weak and incapable of doing a lot of things, but especially lately I have seen that the woman is considered stupid, easily manipulated, and weak.

In Little Red Riding Hood I feel that this is another example of a woman being weak and too naive. Why must the woman get tricked so easily? Why can't there be a sensible woman who stands up for herself and thinks things through, instead we get a young lady who is so innocent and naive it's nauseating. I find myself getting annoyed and frustrated with this. Don't get me wrong, I admire some chivalry in men and the huntsman was kind enough to save her, but women are perfectly capable of handling themselves in situations.

In other media the woman can also be considered manipulative and controlling, so why not even things out and make a woman who knows how to handle herself and lets her female sexuality do herself some good instead of bad or hurting others. Really, it's getting too ridiculous to see such a beautiful creature getting stomped on. We're complex creatures, who deserve to be treated as complex.

Little Red Riding Hood never had a chance in a male dominant society, but why not give her a chance, let her be the woman she deserves to be!
