The House On Hickory Hill
By Visitor
The night was quiet, save for the the windy riot
that brought in an ominous chill
Aptly dressed for this tale I express
of the House on Hickory Hill.
The insides were bare, a portrait of the pair
was the only remnant left to extol.
And other than that only ants and small rats
but besides them no living soul.
But living aside, still a soul sat inside;
a young ghost awaiting his favorite fun.
He awoke from his sleep just to get in a peep
of night's fading and day's rising sun.
- Here's an acoustic guitar and some bass
- Make Space For Me In Your Coffin (Collab)
I thought of putting a happy tune to the somewhat sorrowful words in the poem, kinda juxtaposing.
We left the drums bare incase any drummers out there want to add a little something live.

- Little Tune for Le Lune

Just a fun-loving instrumental melody with a childish aura.
- Sorrow Bird (Song)
So it's been a while, but I'm back. I was going through my favorite hitRECord poet's records and found this wonderful, dark poem about a certain bird. Needless to say I was immediately inspired and decided to sit with it and squeeze out a song. This is the result. I know it's an older poem of hers and she has a lot of incredible new words, but I believe in revivals. Enjoy!
