Theimaginedconfidant's Featured RECords
The birds took flight and circled the city, restless and weary. Their cries had her canting her chin back to gaze at the full moon sitting heavy and swollen in the darkening sky.
Autumn was settling in and the birds could feel it in their bones.
"The harvest is near," the birds were crying. "And winter follows quick, so quick, so quick."

The streets run electric and bright and when you stand still your heart can't help but want to scream, can't help but want to beat so hard you feel like it might break your ribs.
There is this city I know that has me crowing when the sun sets, has me crowing as the madness of the night to come begins to rest heavy in my bones. I want to run wild under the fake starlight of dirty street lamps and skyscraper windows lit up through the dark night.
There is this city I know and if you close your eyes, wherever you are, you can hear it calling to you. You can hear it's voice, the heartbeats a thousand different peoples from all walks of life just aching to keep living in that place that never sleeps.
[Couple of notes: One, it took me a half hour to find the original RECord to resource it properly, I didn't realize how many RECords I have recommended since joining! Two, I had an idea of having the colors slowly change in an animation or whatever but I don't have the program to do it, anyone know of any free program I can download to do that?
Also: Read the original post again and realized the photo was actually from http://coisasdacris.wordpress.com/2009/12/18/uma-cidade-que-nao-dorme/ hmmm hope this means I am allowed to remix like I did. ]

The lights that hung across the low branches startled her. She nearly ran toward them, thinking perhaps they were fellow stars coming to earth to find her. But, then, she stopped and stood so still and so quiet that the sounds coming from within the chapel soon filled the crisp night air.
"It's Christmas," I said quietly. "Those are the lights we wrap around our trees and houses."
"What is that noise?" she asked softly.
"People are singing."
She turned to me, the glow of her skin pulsating gently as wonder filled her eyes.
"What for? Why do they sing."
I didn't know how to explain, no one had ever asked why we sang at Christmas. I dug the toe of my boot into the snow and shrugged sheepishly.
"I don't know. We just do."
"When we sing it's to mourn the death of old stars and praise the birth of new ones."

I dream of a metal ghost.
He and I watch the explosions of dying stars over the horizon and he gives a rusty sigh.
"I used to think I could save them," he says. "But I'm just a ghost of who I once was. I can't do anything anymore."
"What is this place?"
"I will show you," he says and we begin our journey.

And from that day on he lived with the stars. There he shined bright, there he guided many a weary traveler home, and there he rested in peace for an eternity.

1. It took me five times to even get this one done and there are tons of terrible mistakes, but I was tired and really didn't think it'd get much better, haha.
2. I purposely changed some things to make it feel more natural to say.
3. I'm sorry if my weird interpretation offends anyone, esp. dayglo but at least it made me laugh!
4. Yes, especially the voice for "c" because I'm from Texas, so that was really trying and failing hard.
5. Enjoy haha
