Sparra's Collaborations
|
For those of us who were lucky enough to attend HitRECord @ the Movies last night, here's a place for us to deposit all those RECords. Video, Audio, Image, and Text, let's get this going and make some really fantastic REmixes from it! |

A few days ago I bought this tape recorder. It can't rewind or fast forward. It can play, stop or pause the tape, and it can do the most important thing of all. It can still record. So I had this idea: Why not send it out into the world? I propose that we send this tape recorder to each other. You get one 1 minute to record whatever you want to say. It can't rewind, so no do-overs. 1 chance to say what you want to say. The Tape Recorder will be sent with a few other things. Namely, spare batteries, tapes, and a composition notebook. The spare tapes are only if you get short ended. If the tape runs out while you're recording, open the next tape, record for at least 10 seconds then start talking. The Notebook is for you to write in, up to 5 pages per person. You can write in it, draw in it, paint in it, put pictures, whatever you want to record in it. When The Notebook comes back, I'll scan the pages into the collaboration. It is our log, our journal, our collective book. Here's how this works: I'll make a list of the names and addresses of everyone participating. Once you've received The Tape Recorder and made your record, I will email you the name and address of the person you will send it to. If there's no next person, or no more tapes, then it comes back to me. Sign up at this email address: hitrecordtaperecorder@gmail.com Let's not forget that you can also RECord yourself, making these RECords and of course add them to this collaboration! So...Let's hitRECord!! |

The HitRECord Art Show/Gallery There’s been a lot of talk on HitRECord lately about exposure since the Summer in the City shows started. A lot of people loved them, some people hated on them, and some people had some pretty powerful things to say. Filmpunk and myself have spoken about and fleshed out the idea for what can be a HitRECord traveling art show, or even a more permanent HitRECord gallery. In this collaboration, because this is purely hypothetical at the moment, let’s discuss this idea. Filmpunk is going to make a video to elaborate what he would like to see, right now I’ll just ask some basic questions to start the flow of creativity and discussion. 1. What collaborations would you like to see, made into rooms? 2. What rooms (not collabs) would you like to see in general? 3. How can we make these things interactive? 4. How do we decide what gets put in the show/gallery? 5. How will the show travel? This has been going great everyone! I love all the conversation that's been sparked. I've removed my room ideas and released them as a separate RECord. There's even more to discuss now. Eric and I took some time to talk when we went to Summer in the City and have another really big question. 6. How do we make this art show stand out above all others? At first my answer was the collaborative creation by the patrons, but as Eric pointed out, Collaboration is already our thing. So what can we do to make this show even greater than it already is? Looking forward to your responses! - Eric and Sara |

I was inspired after speaking with themetafictionist here on hitRECord and finding out (much to my surprise) that she lives in my town. After talking to a bunch of hitRECorders (and luckily enough RegularJOE) I thought I would propose this to our ever growing community. I believe it's time for hitRECorders to join together in the land of the real and collaborate both on and off the net. It sucks that a lot of us can't make it to Summer in the City, but that shouldn't stop us from joining together and creating some magic. So here's how I hope this might work. Post a response with your respective location (just the city not your address). Be sure to include what state you're in because there are cities of the same moniker in multiple places. Check BEFORE you post to make sure your city hasn't already been put up. From there, go into the response and talk to each other. If you guys know a better way of handling this I'm all ears and will edit the collaboration as such. So, what are you waiting for? Meet up, Collaborate, and most of all Hit RECord! Edit: I want to make it clear that I'm not trying exclude everyone by region. I encourage in fact for everyone to travel, experience and meet other hitRECorders all over the world. I thought meeting locally at first would be a very good place to start. Mucho <3 SParra or more informally Sara |

This sound is known to the world as 'The Bloop'. It sounds just as described but just really, really loud. So loud that it in 1997 it was heard on two separate microphones 3,000 miles away from where it originated. Scientists have determined The Bloop was made by an animal, except no such animal on earth is large enough to have made The Bloop. So hitRECorders, tell us a story about how The Bloop was made. Here's a link to The Bloop, which is sped up 16 times the normal speed (because at normal speed, it doesn't sound like anything): http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/vents/acoustics/sounds/bloop.html Here's the wiki on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloop |

Inspired by Tiny Stories I thought it might be fun to relate some horror stories. Different cultures all over the world have different concepts of fear and what is scary. I'd like to hear more about them, you can show myself and hitrecord in video, images, audio, or even just writing the story. Hope to hear from you guys, and my horror story will be up in a couple of days! - Sara |

Hello HitRecord, My name is Sara. I've been working (or what will sound worse.....slacking....) on a film project that I've had stuck in my head. So far, I've come up with a very basic storyline or rather a timeline for the story. What I haven't been able to do is write it. I know what the main events are, but getting from points A to B to C have become nightmare-ish. Not to mention the overall stress of thinking whether or not this is even a good idea for a movie or not....I would rather collaborate on this project, then have it pass through the Hollywood machine. I know I'm asking for a lot from this community, being new, but when I came here I was inspired by it. This is something I want us all to make as a team, so here goes: Pitch: A young girl is transported to an ethereal like circus, where she must find out why she is there and decided whether or not to stay. Her decision may cost her everything. If you guys are interested I will share the timelines I've laid out, and my overall vision for the project. My goal is to create something that is beautiful. That feels like.....magic really (it's the only way I can describe it.) I look forward to hearing your feedback. - Sara PS - I forgot to mention something about this, my goal is to ultimately make this a feature film. Since HitRecord is now a production company maybe we can make this a full scale production (this is wishful thinking of course) |
