Now it's time to work on Issue #3 of THE HITRECORDERLY - our quarterly subscription series!
For the Autumn Issue we're gonna create works of art based on all of the live shows we've done over the past few years!
==
Here's what we're gonna make together:
* A Book featuring tons of Photos & Text from our Live Shows
* A Flash Drive that would include the Videos & Music we made together
==
Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:
DID YOU ATTEND ONE OF OUR LIVE SHOWS?: If you came to any…

Let's start making art together around the theme of CHILDHOOD! For many of us, childhood is a time of pretend and playing with your imagination. So let's take the theme that RECorder van-gramsci contributed to our RE: Themes collaboration & see what we can create based on this theme.
You can contribute your RE: Childhood records to the collaboration here!

Read MoreFor a long time now we've been selecting Themes and making art regarding those Themes. But we need to develop New Themes. So let's hear your suggestions!
They should be broad enough so all sorts of art can be created for them, but they should also be specific.
==
Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:
* Contribute one RE: Theme at a time to this collaboration (please do not contribute as a list - just one per record)
* You can also include why you selected each Theme in the record's…
Read MoreOur new "Little Red Riding Hood" paper cutout book is almost ready to be published! I would like to include a section in the book that explicitly speaks to the feminsit thoughts and themes revolving around this fairy tale.
WRITERS: Write a brief statement (a small essay, a brief paragraph, or even just 1-2 sentences) regarding the feminist themes found in LRRH. This statement can refer to either the original Brothers Grimm story or my adapted screnplay. JulesKD and hopiamanipopcorn both have…

ATTENTION ANIMATORS AND ILLUSTRATORS!
Here's an update with what we need:
Calling all Graphic Artists, Animators, Visual Effects Artists! We are making Strawberry Bootlaces into a short live action animation and guess what? The rotoscoping is already done!
You may or may not know the wonderful piece titled 'Strawberry Bootlaces', written and spoken by Day Glo. Well, a while back Ozie picked it up and played a beautiful piano score underneath.
This week, I finished recording the live action part of our short film, which is me pantomiming the story in front of a green…

Do you wanna play on a score for a short animated film featuring Gary Oldman that will be screened at the Sundance Film Festival next week?
Well, here's what's going on! Our short film, The Man With A Turnip For A Head has a great original score written by musicinyouhead. We need to take her score that is performed on a synthesizer and transpose it to REAL instruments.
Here's what to do:
Calling All Animators!
We need 2 animated sequences for our short film called 'The Blue Dildo' that's going to screen at our show in Sundance 2012.
There are 2 props in the film, an envelope and a brown paper bag, that have cute little illustrations on them, like bunnies and flowers and cats etc. These are the 2 illustrations that I want to come to life by being animated.
Here's what to do:

UPDATE: 01/22/11 -------------------------------------
Really great work so far everyone! Less than a week left to finish this so keep it up!
LET'S ALL FOCUS ON THE LINES THAT ARE NOT CROSSED OUT FROM THE TEXT BELOW:
Ladies and gentlemen,
the world is much larger and stranger than you have been led to believe
there are extraordinary things in your everyday lives
there are hidden treasures in familiar shadows
you have been kept shielded
shielded from the…
Read MoreIn honor of our upcoming show at The Sundance Film Festival 2012, I'd like to start making art regarding the theme of Independence. You can record a testimonial of your thoughts regarding this topic but more importantly, you can contribute a short story, an illustration, a song or even make a short film. Anything that regards the idea of Independence.
We will then take these pieces and put them together in a clever, funny, entertainingly way and intersperse them throughout our show while…
Read MoreThis last Halloween, we put on a show for seven hundred standing RECorders at The Poisson Rouge rock club in New York City. The evening's centerpiece was a theatrical performance/shoot of the Brothers Grimm's LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD. Costumed characters from the crowd pantomimed the parts while the vocalists voiced the story, and we all shot it.
Now it's time to make the short film.
I've just uploaded my first try editing the audio together from our half-hour staged shoot to make a ten-minute…

VOCAL PERFORMERS: Having heard a bunch of contributions layered on top of each other, I realize what we really need is PRECISION so that the words remain intelligible. Let's make our recitations (I'm gonna do one soon now that I'm back in the REC Room) as close as possible to the original computer generated recitation.

Let's make an animated short film out of Metaphorest's darkly delightful short text and Gary Oldman's glorious live performance of it. We got a bunch of great contributions of how to illustrate the main character. Now I want to start animating some of these possibilities to see how they look in motion before deciding on one to move forward with.
ANIMATORS - Take one of the most recommended illustrations of our Turnip Head protagonist and do an animation test. 5-10 seconds, just so I can see…
