I decided to write about being an outsider within society - feeling trapped within the intricately networked machine of the corporate world. I hope you enjoy it :)
Ladies and Gents, here it is...
Toss's absense has gotten me back on the band wagon only to finish The video with the shortest edit out there that sounded smooth and seemless. I wasn't really picky or favored one over the other--this edit by Ryan Patrick just fit the timing nearly perfect for the Electric Loss video. These last few days coming up with crazy backgrounds, renders and ideas for something that might work became crazy. The ending isn't the best of endings, it could always be remixed!
Also I feel bad for not doing any RE-RECs last night. I was up until 3am completing this--Fell asleep during render time. I will have to get better at that.
Thanks Gyllenmaya for the lazer eyes that helped sparked an ending to this video. Thank you Djean for your particle animation even though I never was able to sync it. Thanks Burnsius for your dancing animation. Thanks Toss for doing a lot of the grunt work for this music video. Thanks Jeff and Marke for being creative stewards helping us in making this crazy video. Thanks Joe for putting this on the spot on VH1. The best for last with a great many thanks to the rest of the HitRECord community & staff.
Changes can still be made. I just have to rest.
HERE'S A GLIMPSE INTO THE CREATIVE PROCESS BEHIND OUR NEW ALBUM, "MOVE ON THE SUN!"
For the Summer Issue of The hitRECorderly - our quarterly subscription series - we created a Double LP Vinyl Record together entitled "Move On the Sun."
Here's the creative process we used to make this record:
COMMUNITY CURATION: Members of the hitRECord community curated Albums of songs that they wanted to hear on vinyl.
PRODUCTION: After the songs were selected, the community went to work to remix the 15 songs that are now pressed to vinyl.
hitRECord CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS: 78 Artists from the hitRECord community contributed to the final production.
You can subscribe to The hitRECorderly at The RECord Store here: http://www.hitrecord.org/store/recorderly.html
FCP by Dr. Gory
music is not well edited at the end:/
Now it's time to work on Issue #3 of THE HITRECORDERLY - our quarterly subscription series!
For the Autumn Issue we're gonna create works of art based on all of the live shows we've done over the past few years!
You can contribute your records to the collaboration here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/907682
Here's what we're gonna make together:
* A Book featuring tons of Photos & Text from our Live Shows
* A Flash Drive that would include the Videos & Music we made together
Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:
DID YOU ATTEND ONE OF OUR LIVE SHOWS?: If you came to any of our Live Shows, PLEASE UPLOAD ALL OF YOUR LIVE FOOTAGE to hitRECord now so the community can remix it!
VIDEO EDITORS: Go through all the great footage from our Live Shows & start cutting together new records - or refine remixes that are already in progress. Keep in mind these remixes don't have to stick just to the live setting - you can cut together all kinds of Audio & Video from hitRECord to make something entirely new that evokes that live moment.
CURATORS: Compile an Album of all your favorite Live Moments that you think we should remix & contribute it to the collab.
The Live Shows have always been something I've really loved about hitRECord & it'd be great to get this 3rd issue completed in time for upcoming Live Shows so we can sell it there!
This is partially inspired by Midori's awesome drawing (shown above).
What does it mean to be feminine?
Wearing a dress?
Having a vagina?
Playing with dolls?
Being a mother?
Liking romantic comedies?
Wanting love over sex?
Having long hair?
Being a victim?
Taking care of people?
Not liking video games, electronics in general, sports, machinery, math, science, technology, etc.?
Or is being feminine simply feeling and identifying as such, while doing whatever it is you want to do-be it fixing a car, peeing while standing up, or playing with Barbie dolls? Does this word really mean anything at all?
What does it mean to be masculine?
Having a penis?
Holding back all emotion(except anger, that is)?
Being sexually promiscuous?
Liking sports and electronics?
Wanting sex over love?
Being a hero?
Having short hair?
Being the one to work?
Liking action movies?
Or is being masculine simply feeling and identifying as such, while doing whatever it is you want to do-be it dancing ballet, wearing a dress, or watching sports? Does this word really mean anything at all?
Why do we let ourselves be constrained by these binaries of gender? Why do we allow ourselves to be so limited by them?
Maybe it's time we just let ourselves be free.
