MisterB's Collaborations

Since the release of INCEPTION, I have heard from some people that after viewing the film, they have had some really interesting dreams. Perhaps the creative quality of the film has kicked into our brains to dream more. I, too, have dreamt more since seeing the film. In fact, last night, I had a dream where I was outside the house where I grew up, and I noticed that someone, or a group of persons, had broken in. I went inside the house and grabbed the phone (out of nowhere, connected, and with a dial tone) and started to dial 911, but for some reason the call wouldn’t go through. I started to panic and got angry at the same time. I remember seeing family members in the house as I was doing this, and wasn’t a sure if they were the culprits or not. The amazing thing is that I kept waking up through the night at various times, and I would ask myself, “Why isn’t the f*cking phone working?” Then, I’d go back to sleep, and fall back into the dream instantly where I left off... gripping the phone and hitting it, trying to call 911, but still too no avail. I’m usually pretty powerful in my dreams as I’m constantly flying, levitating, jumping, etc., but for some reason, in this particular dream, I had no control, and seemed like I was being blocked from any kind of freedom. Because of this dream, and hearing about the dreams of others recently, I would like to start this collab of writing a script based on the dreams of hitRECorders. If you’ve had a recent dream, or one that was a unique dream that you would like share, you can add them here. If doesn’t have to be written in great detail (like a paragraph or two), but if you prefer, by all means, please do so. For the script, I will take any inspirational elements from the dreams collected here and base a short script after the events. It will be interesting to see how and where the script develops as it may have multiple, interchangeable characters, settings, dialogue. It could be a piece that takes a direction in a surreal, non-linear storyline. It will be a script that will allow hitRECorders to film (even just a scene) in either live action, or even animated. And just look at the dream REsources we have now on HR to help with that. In the end, the filmed scenes can be put together, and cut into one final film. I’m really excited about this and looking forward to reading your dreams... B. Edited to Note 7/29: The ideas and outline for the script is off to an awesomely, creative start. The title of the script is "Continuum." *A Pocket Autopsy scene based on Quinceycg's poem, and Tori's purse, and contents has been developed for the script. *A scene based on Zeta711's dream has been developed. * "The Surrealist" has been added as a character. * Three men, a young girl, and a character based after Tori and her dream is currently being developed. * "The Man with the Golden Hair" has been added as a character for a scene in development. |

Have you seen a piece of artwork lately on HR that you like? Would you like to do more than hit it with a heart and a comment of: "That's cool," or "I like?" Well, this collab is for you. Choose your piece, any piece (image, audio, text,) from any HR artist and write an Art RE-view in a new record and resource that original artwork. When you are finished, contribute your RE-view here. The review can be anywhere from 1-2 strong paragraphs about what you see or hear in the piece. Analyze it with a form of compare and contrast, and deeper meaning. There is no right or wrong when judging artwork as an individual reviewer; it's all subjective. These are your thoughts and your ideas about the subject. End your review with a strong statement about the overall artwork. Remember, show-- don't tell. Also, do you see two art pieces that are different, but share a theme? You can do an Art RE-view by comparing and contrasting the works and emphasizing the theme they share. For other presentation options, you can create an audio or video RE-view instead of the written paragraphs to make it easier explaining the artwork, especially audio pieces. As an example, please see MattConley's excellent Art RE-view video presentation for "We Are Icicles." These RE-views, no matter how they are presented, will also encourage further discussions in the RE-marks section of that particular artwork's RECord. This collab was inspired by my recent art studies at the Seattle Art Museum for graphic design school. It was also inspired by ntheon's Random Record Game on finding unknown RECords and giving them the recognition they deserve. Have fun and I look forward to your Art RE-views and seeing/hearing the artwork RECords you share. ;-) B. |

I would like to start a collab for a "photo-documentary series" for all hitRECord photographers. If you have photos that captured a subject you're passionate about, please feel free to post them here. They can be of subjects and issues we see today in the world. It can be anything from homelessness, war, everyday life, personal struggles, political, gay rights, poverty, the American dream, anybody, anywhere, doing anything, etc. If you already have images from other resources that fit this collab, I invite you to contribute them here as well. I also encourage you to write a short description about the photo(s), the subject or issue, and where it was taken. I look forward to seeing this develop into something special and touchingly beautiful. MB. |

Hey folks, To get ready for Sundance 2010, I propose we create a "poster gallery" of all the posters we made for Joe. That way we all can view all of our creative, hard work in one place. It will be an impressive, portfolio showcase for viewing all the posters here at once. So pick your favorite designs you created and contribute their existing files here. This is going to look AMAZING!!! |

I have been seeing some great photography on hitREC and thought it would be great to start a collaboration for an OFFICIAL HITRECORD.ORG PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK and (or) Photo Contest... -What I propose is an idea to showcase a collection of photos... color, black & white, portraits, photo-documentary, abstract, lanscapes, etc. It can be a series or volume collection every year or couple of years, such as Volume I, Volume II... As a result from this, it could even allow Joe to sell our photos to interested, select advertisers. Kind of like Getty Images, but with more artistic "class." It could even start an annual hitREC art gallery show somewhere every year...which also leads me to... -The idea of an annual hitREC photography contest! This could be a photo contest where all members submit their photo(s) to a category like I mentioned above... and... the hitRECORD members could vote for their favorite photo in each category, resulting in a winner for each one. For this contest, hitREC could make money let's say, for example, $10 per image entry fee. That way, the money could be distributed to all the winners and hitREC. And the top voted photos make it into the book or show. I've had a lot financial success from my photos the last couple of years and as a photo collection book or contest, it would be a great fine art money generator for hitREC as a production company. Just something to think about. |
