- Right Before (Author Voiceover)
Here's another poem I wrote, with me doing the voiceover. Would anyone be interested in animating it? I think it is a pretty visual bundle of words.
Right Before
By Mark Mazzoli
It felt good to see
you across the small table
and in the dark car along
for the ride
Lately the world leaves me like the sudden
crows that fly away from us in unison
springing from the bare branches
of deep-asleep trees
A criminal life is
all I've got
But I don't think anybody obeys
all the rules
They pick and choose
to make their trips through the cold
as short as possible
I've got the pedal to the floor in
our getaway car and maybe
we can catch up with the lives in those far-
distant houses
or at least pass the crows
before they run into the windows
and make the view from inside bitter-sweet
