I didn't know what else to call this RECord, so I simply named it "SXSW / twenty ten." This is essentially my take on a recap video of the live shows hitRECord put on in Austin, Texas. I tried to encompass as much of how I felt about SXSW into this one.
This begins as a REmix of my first Interstitial Video, but then it goes into some of the moments I found most memorable and special out of the shows, as well as stuff that just so happened to cut well to the music I selected.
If I had to pick out a moment of this that I would want people to remember, I'd have to say it's the final moment of this video when Joe is watching RECords up on the big screen. The light happened to turn red and it was a great moment to have been captured of this site's creator enjoying the work he has helped us all create.
As an editor of other people's footage, I am always in debt to those that RECorded anything I've used. And in this particular case I really just want to highlight the work of milkriverfilm. His 18 minute "HitRECord @ South by Southwest" is something a lot of people seem to have missed. With only 166 views and 5 hearts as of now I feel it's something that got slept on and I encourage all of you to go check it out! It's marvelous!

Right then, here 'tis! Lexy, Chan and I had a ball doing this the other night. I just finished the cut last night. Hope it does justice to Metaphorest's fantastic tale!
It's certainly a much more ambitious story to tell than the first installment of Morgan M. Morgansen. So this version is less complete than the "white walls" version of that last episode. We got a lot of work ahead of us with this one!
Time to get to work on the visuals. Lawrie Brewster, this one has a hell of a lot more settings than the last one. I'm hoping the hitRECord contingent of graphic artists can rally round and pull together on this one.
I want to do another pass on the voice over. There's the characters' gibberish to add, sound effects. And of course, music!
This is the closest I could come to a file that would fit within our video player's 500MB limit. But I'm gonna upload another higher-res file as well for those of you (and there better be a lot!) who want to download it and start adding to it.

It started as a couple conversations with the inimitable Sean Lennon, and look how far it's come! This is the version of Nebulullaby that screened at Sundance 2010. (Leaving UT today, we'll be updating with cited Resources and a new higher quality file with the proper aspect ratio soon )

ATTN: ARTISTS & WRITERS (in particular). Ya might've noticed a bit of artistic speculation happening around an Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass collab lately. We love the books. We love the artwork coming out. But some of us are concerned about how to make this different from the plethora of previous versions without, you know, missing the point. If we're gonna do it, I say, let's do something different that honors Carroll AND makes good on the spirit of copyright law, which protects original vision first and then dissolves to keep our cultural coffers rich and evolving. So. HERE'S AN IDEA FOR HITRECORD ARTISTS from the author: Why don't you do what Carroll did and make (draw, paint etc.) characters out of friends or colleagues on hitrecord to go into a collection that writers can then write stories about? Doesn't that sound like fun? You can base them on original Wonderland / Glass characters if you like and then give them a spin relative to this sphere OR you could do it the other way around. We certainly have lots and lots of intriguing people on here that most of us only know by usernames and tastes. But I'm a writer. Maybe this is asking too much of artists? Maybe characters need to be written up before most artists can render a sketch? If that's the case, or if you want to add to the discussion (voices are good) leave a remark.
