LittleBeth's RECommendations
wirrow first Released this song back in the springtime. The first thing I did after the first time I heard it was email dan, saying "I found your new favorite song." He and I share a love for the pleasantly repetitive.
Other musicians added to it, PixelPilgrim and ChenelyWelly added to wirrow's vocals from the female persuasion. Nels Cline played hot guitar. Jeff Peff added percussion and edited the whole thing together into its current form.
The hypno-face template is one of the cooler aesthetic feats our mass collaborative process has achieved so far: wirrow drawing the first face, then hundreds of hitRECorders coloring it into diversity.
And the work of a whole lot of video artists went into this montage I've cut. Too many to name in this description, but I'll cite the resources below. (I've listed some so far, but I'll have to dig around to find the rest) The footage of dan spinning comes from Vanya, who is well intent on uploading the resource, I know because he's standing right next to me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have some regrettable news regarding the FALL FORMAL. As you might know, these past two weeks have been the worst of my life. To those contributing tribute RECords re: my brother dan, you have my deepest gratitude. I’m eager to get back to work, but I also feel like I’ve just had an arm chopped off and so I’m finding myself less than capable these days. I’ve considered various possibilities on how to make the show happen another way – the Town Hall Theater has been so accommodating in figuring this out with us. But in the end, I just don’t feel up to it right now and have decided to cancel the show. If it’s any consolation, we hitRECorders can take heart in knowing that our production was on-track to selling all 1500 tickets – a victory in itself well worthy of ice cream. Chin up, there’s still much to do and a bright future ahead. Thanks again... <3 J PS. Ticketmaster will send an automatic notice to email and phone purchasers. A notification message that their creditcard accounts will be credited with a full refund. It takes about, 48 hours to show up on most credit-card statements. You can call ticketmaster at 800-982-2787 for more information. |

BURNING dAN brightly embodied that bold beastly bliss sometimes referred to as "the creative spirit." He was my chief collaborator on the foundational incarnations of hitRECord.org over the years and continues to inspire us ever the more. He would absolutely positively insist that we not let this bad news deter us on our collective mission. That said, I might not feel up to it for a little while. Watching this community blossom into what it has become never ceased to amaze him and me. We would regularly marvel at it and high five. Thank you all for that. There he is now pouring heaping hollowed watermelons full of love over each and every one of us. Let's celebrate him, he's fucking awesome: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/234697 See you real soon, thanks again... <3 |

a sort of stream of consciousness-y thing ive been writing lately. i saw this timelapse vid today by bluebudgie and was really inspired to experiment with it. i understand how this might be seen as political or preachy or offensive.. but i honestly dont mean to be any of those things. it is directed at me more than anyone else. there's a lot of literary reference nod's in the text.
sub-point: the track is an instrumental version of everything is on fire
Our man Morgan and his lovebuddy Destiny, along with Mssr. Foodpenguin and that dastardly dip-stick Lionel premiered to two jam-packed houses in Austin. The screenings were met with the lovely love of excited SXSW humanians.
Thanks to everyone who collaborated on Morgan and all of our other RECords in Austin. Its a time I won’t soon forget! :o)
