CALLING ALL ARTISTS: COME MAKE ART w/ US RE: "MY FAVORITE THINGS!"
You may have heard that I wrote and directed the upcoming movie "DON JON." It's a comedy about this guy named Jon who is very into his things - his car, apartment, body, and the women in his life that he treats like objects on a shelf. I want us all to make art regarding the theme "MY FAVORITE THINGS."
For instance, ask yourself: What are your favorite things? Can you truly love a thing? Can people be considered 'things?' Do our favorite things define us?
I've had this movie in my head for so long now, I'm really curious to see what kind of stuff it inspires us to make together.
You can contribute to the Collaboration here: http://www.hitrecord.org/collaborations/7347
Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:
EVERYONE: Grab a camera and tell us what your favorite things are, and why.
WRITERS: Write a story or script regarding this theme.
ILLUSTRATORS & GRAPHIC DESIGNERS: Draw visuals or remix image resources on the site regarding this theme.
MUSICIANS: Make a song regarding this theme.
FILMMAKERS & VIDEO EDITORS: Shoot footage or cut together resources into Short Films regarding this theme.
Also, this is cool, you can download a zip file of the "DON JON" trailer, with the music taken off for editing purposes here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1313741. Resource it in what you make!
Thanks again <3

Jared's favorite thing is an Eames Rocker, so we made a short film about it for the 'Don Jon' collab "RE: My Favorite Things."
You can contribute your RECords to the "My Favorite Things" collaboration here: http://www.hitrecord.org/collaborations/7347
I'm gonna have a close eye on this collab and I'm really looking forward to seeing where this it goes!
Thanks again <3
You can download the entire trailer to my movie "DON JON" here. This version is without music for all your REmixing pleasure.
I'm really curious to see what kind of RECords we can make with this footage here on hitRECord!
Thanks again <3
A blend of both versions by RegularJOE and Joab Nevo, as REmixed by carole luciole. ;)
(dry track is in results)
Sloane Avery is looking for melancholic music, with violins. This is a song I wrote in 2004, and I was in a band back then. We used to play little coffee shop gigs and though I was always really shy about this one, everyone always requested it.
This was recorded on an 8 track. It's out of tune, insanely reverby. It's not perfect. But it's a sad song, to me anyway. I'm just throwing this up as a reference. I have no stems, so this is as good as it's going to get.
Perhaps I'll try re-recording my violin parts and see if any guitar players and breathy vocalists want to play along to make a new mix with modern technology.
eep! Sharing certain things makes me so nervous sometimes! <3
The giant had only the skyscrapers to keep him company. Couldn't resource it, but here's the link...http://www.hitrecord.org/records/941361
Inspired by IAmRobynNicole's and RegularJoe's edited version of the text
Monuments make momentous men immortal, but more memorable are mortal men making mere moments monumental
After reading Metaphorest's tiny story, I had an illustration pop into my head. The idea is that this man is so obsessed with a past love that he clones her over and over again to find that same feeling. That perfect someone he lost. While this seems like a sad story, I sort of gave it a semi-happy ending by hinting at his success towards the end.
