What if planet Earth fell from orbit?

Where would it go and what would happen if our planet fell in space? Would we fall forever, is there a bottom to our Galaxy if one were to descend?  How long would we survive and how fast would we freeze without the Sun's warmth?

What if dreams are all we have?

I sit there in my bright room

Dreaming night and day

Counting sheep along the way
