- Brave Men (song)
I was really touched by fdinamite’s amazing tiny story ”Brave Men” (”Face it”, he said. ”We are not brave men”). It has so much depth in it. To face the fact that you’re not brave, to accept that you’re just a human, that sometimes, like everyone, you’re not the hero… it takes so much strenght. Not many people can do it. Only the bravest have the courage to be afraid, and only the strongest have the strenght to be weak.
We could’ve been heros,
Could’ve been kings
We could’ve been those
Who change everything
We could’ve been fighters
Should’ve made plans
But we only knew how to escape
And so we ran
”Face it”, he said. ”We are not brave men”
No, everyone can’t be
No, everyone can’t
Stand up and shine
We might be weak
We might be small
We know it all
We might not be fighters
But we can still fight
We might be afraid but
We can still try
Just deal with it
this is what we’ve got
We are still heroes
No matter what

- Makebelieve (tiny tune)
just a simple tiny (love-ish) tune I wrote for Tori's wonderful tiny story "makebelieve": "You make makebelieve believable". I just love this story so much, I couldn't help singing it. It's a bit silly. VERY simple. I don't write these kind of love songs that often, so I'm not 100% sure what to think of this one, but I decided to share it with you guys anyway. It's a wonderful story, I'd love to see more illustrations & remixes for it!!
I left some empty space to the end for anyone to fill... maybe some whistling? violin? accordion? anything! and feel free to sing/play along if you feel like it! :)
you can find more tiny tunes from this collab: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/449074
check it out and see if you get inspired to write a new tiny tune, maybe based on an already existing tiny story?
so anyway...... enjoy! <3
You're not real, and so you're unreliable
and I can't be healed, I'm unreachable
So this must be a dream, 'cause it's impossible
that we could be here, it's just unbelievable
This is a game, I know it's pretend
I know it's a play, I know it will end
I know it's not real, I know, I know
I know I know I know I know, I know
you make makebelieve believable
- Sunday (Tiny Song)
FEATURED BY: ppeppina (audio curator) DATE: 2.10.2012 COMMENT: I've listened to this on a replay for hours today, so so beautiful. Sunday's mood is all over it! It's a great contribution to the Days & Ends collab, and also a great example of how tiny tunes can also be based on longer texts! I love how small and sensitive this lovely song is... I can hear a lonely cello playing along to it! absolutely beautiful <3
Sarah's Sunday poem is oh so nice. So much so that I wrote this tiny song using the first few lines of it. The melody and chords came in an instant. I like those kinds of moments.
You are the little apocalypse
In every week
The small death
Set to the scent
Of roast dinner
You are the worst day
You are the worst day
The worst day
- Fox And Feather
In finding this specific musical riff, I envisiged what I believe foxes are up to when they're not scurrying away from supposedly hearty human beings.
Despite the wet darkness and the slightly unwelcome feeling of the gardens, the fox cub catches a glimpse of the feather, drifting steadily a mere few inches above his reach. But a healthy leap will be all that's needed.
It was enough, and for a moment, the cub felt an incomparable softness, and with the softness, an equally strong desire. The feather wildly scattered itself lower, towards the mesmerised fox's face, until landing between his eyes. He closed them and the feeling intensified, but, within seconds, vanished as the feather was once again riding the night's gust. The fox began to sprint across the garden in search for the feather and the feeling. It was dark, but his eyes were fast and sharp, he spots the feather cutting through the dim light of a window lamp. But the cub's hopeful eyes were lost when rain fell fast and an early morning light chased the feather past the trees and into the day.

Great piece by joerud! Could be a good one to use as a soundtrack to a visual piece or remixed to expand on the story.
Would love to see this one go further!
