Here's another of my historical REmixes. I tried to keep it in the same spirit as wirrow's original version. Starting this weekend, I will be focused on getting a contract completed which is due towards the end of January so I can't promise there will be a v.2.  Once I see that this video has encoded, then I'll add the rest of the resources.

I have been wanting to do another REmix but this time using illustrations only from one artist.  When I first saw  mirtle's illustration Daydream, I knew I had the perfect centerpiece for a REmix.

I was trying to figure out what to do for the RE:Independence collaboration. While doing video research, I came across the short animated film 200 and instantly became captivated with the seventies-style Americana motifs twisting and turning. I suppose this REmix is a celebration of the freedom to fight for one's dreams and to create in Joe's words “transcendent, rambunctious art.”

Love. Passion. Artistry. Excellence.  I believe these are born from a fiery heart.  We harness fire for industrial purposes. We can create and can destroy with fire. We even celebrate with fire. With the original Everything on Fire video, Joe pays a fiery tribute to the love shared between two brothers. This remix is my take on the fiery heart.

Anybody want to illustrate this?

I envision possibly a dragon couple sitting on a park bench or the couple could be sitting watching TV, then the husband turns to wife and says that line.   I'm curious to see what other interpretations illustrators may have.  Thanks!

Curious Joe longed to hit RECord
Older bro dan helped him start a dot org
Out of message boards, the collaborations grew
Sundance soon sparked a website renew
Joe and Jared imagine grand New media Deals
Cross country negotiating makes it for real
Sundancing RECords delight family and friends
Eventually volume one of RECollection begins
Are you recording? Indeed, it’s true
By 11/11/11 the Regularity will be two
Joe thanks us again and again by heart
As we hitRECord our collective art
dan, proud of his brother
And our artistic rebellion
Burns brightly while shouting “Excelsior!” from heaven

-------------------------------------------------------------------After reading Joe’s script for An Illustrated History of hitRECord, I was inspired and compelled to write this poem.  I want to thank a red-headed goddess for her advice and editing assistance.

Imagineers work in an Imaginarium. That’s where we keep them.

Inside a curvilinear structure, they paint canvases of tiny stories and grand tales.

They design patterns and prayers.

They concoct colors from our hopes and dreams.

Even their instruments are fashioned from our triumphs and fears.

We love to visit the Imaginarium.

We marvel at the fantastical fabrics of imagination there.

------------------------------------------- (This is my very first fictional tiny story.  In the copy room at work, there is a dry erase board on which someone had written the word Imagineers on it.  People had taken a particular letter from that word and wrote vertically another word derived from that letter.  There letter "i" was still available and I wrote the word imaginarium. My friend /coworker was there and I said the first line of this story and then she said the second line.  Later that day, I had a first draft.  When I searched the word imaginarium , I found a wonderful image with the same title that was already uploaded. It's funny how inspiration strikes. )
