There once was a boy who hated the world. He loathed all the dancers who jump and who twirled. The singers, the actors, the animals and trees. He hated the sun, the wind and its breeze. He hated his mom and even his dad He hated emotions like happy or sad. So he came up with a device to make it all stop. The world would be gone without a crash, bang or pop. But simply a fizzle and the end of all things No more princesses, princes, queens and their kings No more oceans, or mountains, canyons or clouds No more loud obnoxious bothersome crowds. Instead there’d be nothing but an endless void The buildings and houses would all be destroyed This boy with no name seemed to control all our fate With this device he made that was fuelled by hate One press of a button and it all would end No more countries to attack and no more to defend He’d end all the suffering, the death and decay With this press of a button it would all go away So he closed his eye and he began to think Was the world all that bad? Did it really stink? Sure there are things that we wish we could change To make it seem normal and to seem less strange So the boy decided that the world could live He’d stop all his hate and start to forgive The actors, dancers, his mom and his dad He’d use emotions like happy and sad He’d use what he learned to make things right To never give up and fight the good fight But given the chance what would you do? Would you press the button or start anew? |
