His records were few

but I would still consider them art

His recommendations were many

a sign of his big heart

I may not have known him

but I still feel a loss

He gave out so much support

and was not defined by what he was not

RIP Nico. You will be missed.

I think it's absolutely amazing how technology has changed the way we communicate.  Sometimes it doesn't let us connect as well as we want to, but other times we are able to connect with someone we've never met.

I never met honeyboy or talked to him on the site and for that I am sorry, but his goodbye message still touched my heart and filled my eyes with tears.

Just in case I never get the chance to say it...I love you, HitRECorders.

Sadly I won't be around this weekend and I won't be making a RE REC album, but all the RECords in my Hearts album of this week deserve a second look by all of you and I hope you'll look through it.

Niko's last words to me were 'this is some sexy shit'.

He was a hearter. If you know nothing else about Nico, know that. He was a hearter. He spent almost two years on hitrecord giving us hearts for the artwork we created. His personal record count numbered only six, but he hearted 2,309 records. That amounts to more than 3 records per day for almost two years.

Nico said goodbye to the sun on May 23^rd.  He left behind a family, friends, a woman who loved him. And he also left behind a community here on hitrecord - a community who loved him and was lucky enough to receive his 2,309 hearts, 2,309 bits of encouragement, positivity and love. 2,309 bits of Nico.

It has been said that art is a way to circumvent mortality, a way to leave a piece of yourself behind in this world after you’ve walked gently into that good night. Nico would be the first to tell you that he was not an artist. But with respect to Nico, I disagree. I like to think that every time you heart a record here on hitrecord, you’re giving the community a little piece of your own heart, a piece that resonates softly, but never silently.

We have 2,309 pieces of Nico’s heart here on hitrecord. And those pieces will never be silent.

Stop and listen.

I bet you can hear them ringing. Wherever you are, be it Hawaii, Florida, Great Britain, Russia, India – I bet you can hear those 2,309 hearts ringing like wind chimes caught in a gentle breeze on a quiet summer night. And however loud it might get, however dissonant the chaos might clang, if you stop and listen, they will always be there.

Because, you see, hearting was Nico’s art.

He was a hearter.

you spread your heart so far and wide

that you can never truly die

When I knew about Nico's death this afternoon, I felt like I lost someone of my family, and it's because that's what we are, we are hundreds of hitrecorders that are in different parts of the world, but that we share the same passion, love and dreams and especially we are all hearters, a family of hundreds of hearts, beating at the same time and creating art!

Honeyboy was always a suportive and lovely Hitrecorder, I was looking his records and I found myself crying when I read a comment that he left days ago (I think that it was on Tuesday)at his bunny portrait made by Sinnamin, I cried because now he is gone, but he left us his words, his support, his passion for life and the most important thing: HEARTS! because he was a hearter like the rest of us, we are not musicians, painters or remixers, we are hearters!! I think that we all have to learn a lot about him, the way how he handle cancer and how he was around even when he was fighting with this disease, is just admirable!!!!!!!!!

Tonight, I went to my backyard, looking to the stars, I have a tradition, when somebody close to me died, I just went outside at night and look to the sky and talk to them, I did it tonight, I told him THANKS for been such a wonderful and inspiring person, thank you Nico for share your life with us for 2 years, thanks for the hearts and the comments, thanks for the inspiration and for the passion that you show on your life, thanks for being honest and for showing us that the HEARTS are the most important thing. I stayed outside for about half an hour, talking to him, sending all my love and thoughts through the stars, and I am sure that he receive them, because now he is in everywhere, he is there with you in USA, in England, in hawai and in Canada, he is here and he is there, and I am sure that he is going to take care of us and he is going to keep giving us hearts and supporting and inspiring from wherever he is, that I am sure is a place full of love, colors and peace!

We don't have to give anything and anybody for granted, one day we are here and tomorrow maybe not, so, live the life in the better way you can, say to the people that you love: I love you and above all, be a hearter more than an artist! So said that I love you guys, Good night and tonight just think about Honeyboy and his fantastic journey in this world, that now is starting in a so much better place!
