January 2009... I quickly rushed this sketch when V3 was first launched. Hitrecorders were making records of thanks to Dan for his amazing contribution to the new website. And I was desperate to contribute no matter how small the record may be. Tea had posted a photo of Dan’s eyes so I just copied them out with a message.

I remember the first time I found hitRECord, and the ‘by soul’ record on the home page. The first forum had just launched and ‘Dan’s birthday thread’ was in progress. And I just fell in love with this place, it’s my favourite website, I never looked back.

One of the many inspirational records I found in the early days was Dan’s Courage thread, and although I never posted my record, taking part in that first collaboration was so important to me.

I never met BURNINGdAN in person, but I can tell how much of a positive touch he has had on so many lives. And that he was just fucking awesome.
