I lent you my stars with absolute trust, you used them all up and returned only dust |

CALLING ALL ARTISTS: COME MAKE ART w/ US RE: "MY FAVORITE THINGS!"
You may have heard that I wrote and directed the upcoming movie "DON JON." It's a comedy about this guy named Jon who is very into his things - his car, apartment, body, and the women in his life that he treats like objects on a shelf. I want us all to make art regarding the theme "MY FAVORITE THINGS."
For instance, ask yourself: What are your favorite things? Can you truly love a thing? Can people be considered 'things?' Do our favorite things define us?
I've had this movie in my head for so long now, I'm really curious to see what kind of stuff it inspires us to make together.

Here's how you can contribute to this collaboration:
EVERYONE: Grab a camera and tell us what your favorite things are, and why.
WRITERS: Write a story or script regarding this theme.
ILLUSTRATORS & GRAPHIC DESIGNERS: Draw visuals or remix image resources on the site regarding this theme.
MUSICIANS: Make a song regarding this theme.
FILMMAKERS & VIDEO EDITORS: Shoot footage or cut together resources into Short Films regarding this theme.

Also, this is cool, you can download a zip file of the "DON JON" trailer, with the music taken off for editing purposes here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1313741. Resource it in what you make!

FCP by Dr. Gory
Discovered this on my phone today by accident. I wrote this song when my wife was away on vacation. I couldn't operate the laundry machine or the dishwasher and was pretty much lost.
I can't remember the lyrics or the chords off hand anymore. But if anyone likes it enough to remix it, let me know and I'll look around for the scrap of paper this is thing is written on.
Also check out the slow short version which may be a bit kinder on the ears http://www.hitrecord.org/records/1309723
Hope the sound of my voice doesn't scar you too badly. Enjoy!
Et voilà, mes chéris! Another compostion of mine wich is also yours now. Again by heart ♥

Wipe the blood off your hands, soldier. The war is over, haven't they told you? No, my boy, those are not explosions, These are fireworks yo... |

At the minute I first heard TheBaerGypsy's undescribably beautiful instrumental "Green Set Overture" (go check it out it's amazing!), for some reason I thought of the "Whale house" by rabbleboy. I guess there's just something so surreal and illogical in both of them, they're so beautifully dream-like... I don't know, it's a little experimental but I just had to sing it. Hopefully it inspires someone to do something :) I'll upload the stems first thing tomorrow!
Enjoy <3
It’s all just a bad dream don’t cry
It’s all just a dream, it’ll be alright
Let me tell you what we’ll see when we wake up
Let me tell you what we’ll see, let me tell you where we really are
We sail away on a whale
At the dawn of a brand new day
We’ve planted all the trees and we’ve built our own house
And no one has drowned
We sail away on a whale
No one cries, no one feels pain
Hear how the wind whispers, you heard what she said:
We never shipwrecked
I would LOVE it if someone put some drums to this, or some vocals. I think that would sound very lovely.
Matthew's beautiful track reminded me of the rhythm of a train, so I wrote a very simple little song, about there being no place like home.
Lots of space if people want to remix! <3
LYRICS:
Take me home, I’ve been so far
Little train let’s go
We’ve gone so far
How many days
How many nights
Have I been sleeping here inside my head
And though adventure’s all I want
I think I’ll adventure home instead
Take me home I’ve been so far
I’ve seen so many things
Become so many things
I’ve forgotten who I was
At the beginning
Take me home, I’ve been so far
Little train let’s go
Take me right back to the start
I added some backround vocals on 'i am 1954's song Im Leaving.
