Hello,
This email is a long shot, but that's how I roll. I'm not sure, either, what I am trying to accomplish by emailing you all. Maybe insight? Inspiration? An extra boost? Advice? Or probably just anything you have to offer. I figured I'd try here, as your ambition and dedication is part of the reason why I am going to make this journey in the first place.
I am 21 years old, almost 22, living in Detroit, Michigan. All of my life I feel like I have been on a path that was already set up for me; school, school, school, grades, a career that's a guarantee...etc. Which would be fine, but I have been realizing more and more that I didn't choose this route, and I am getting the fuck off of it right now.
I'm getting rid of all the talk, I'm not going back to school, I'm going to pack up my shit and figure out a way to make movies in New York City.
The details of how I'm going to do it or when aren't altogether yet, but my friend and I are going to make this happen. Not only because we want to, but because we got one shot at this whole life thing, and we're sick of wasting it being too afraid to go for something crazy.
So I think we both agree that it's time to get off our rockers a little and do something drastic. I want filmmaking, she wants Saturday Night Live. New York City...it's where dreams are made of, right?
We're both creative people, we hitrecord.org daily..and because of that, moving forward with something as foreign to us as this, wouldn't mean as much if we didn't get every bit of it on film. We've decided that we are going to make some sort of Video Journal and in the end, turn our trials, tribulations, successes and failures of not living the step by step way of life, in to a documentary. Although there will be tons of messages, and How To's in the middle, our biggest hope in this documentary is to show that we did it, it's fucking possible, and now it's your turn to go follow your crazy dreams. What ever they may be.
I hope I showed my absolute earnestness in this email. Enough to prove that it's going to happen. Enough to convince you to take a chance on a stranger, and reply.
Sincerely yours,
Lindsay & Chrissy.
