It’s 7 o’clock in the morning.  She rolls over and gets out of bed.  He springs to his feet.  She climbs in the shower.  He jumps in the shower.  Blow dryer in one hand, toothbrush in the other, she has no time to waste.  Toothbrush in one hand, electric razor in the other, he calls it multitasking.  She slips into a cute skirt and sandals.  He climbs into a pair of faded jeans and slides on old shoes.  She grabs a box of cereal while she waits for her pot of coffee to boil.  He pours a glass of orange juice while he waits for his oatmeal to cool.  She sips her coffee and picks up the paper, reading the fashion section.  His preference is arts and entertainment.  She looks at her phone.  He looks at his watch.  She walks quickly to the door.  He jumps to his feet and heads outside.  She walks swiftly down the escalator.  He lets the escalator do the work for him.  She has a minute to spare before the train arrives.  He catches it just as the door is about to close.  She’s already settled into her seat.  He slides casually into the seat behind her.  Him.  Her.  Perfect strangers.
